I found this interview which sounds like it was taken a month ago, and thought it was pretty interesting as Larisa herself goes into details about all that happened after Montreal. Honestly, it’s heartbreaking to read her struggle with her Achilles surgeries, as well as motivating to see her positive attitude and resilience in front of hardship. 

I tried to make it brief, but the translation is still pretty long (though it’s not the full interview), but it all felt it was important to the story, so I’m adding it under the cut.

Basics:

Leap: Take off from one foot

Jump: Take off from two feet

Stag Ring Jump/Ring Jump: B Rating

How this is the same rating as a split jump is beyond me, but it is super beautiful and I’m more ok with lots of people doing it. 

Sheep Jump (Jump with upper back arch and head release with feet to head height/closed Ring) : C Rating

I feel the FIG has just wanted people to stop doing sheep jumps hence the downgrade to a C. They probably were also sick of all the trash ones being performed out of front aerials for the last two quads. Once again only select russians and chinese gymnasts can actually do this skill properly as it requires supreme back flexibility that mere mortals do not possess.

Split Ring Jump: D Rating

The majority of girls that do this leap should not get credit as barely anyone gets the head release and ring position correct to get credit. This leap can be very beautiful but often looks jerky in most girls routines and opens the door for a lot of deductions. The main difference between this and the Yang-Bo is the leg bend as the Yang-Bo is all head release and no leg bend.

Yang Bo (Jump to cross over split with body arched and head dropped bwd) : D Rating

Literally no one does this jump because it is virtually impossible to get credit consistently. If you haven’t been laying in oversplits with your head fully released since birth there is no chance you can even attempt this jump. While it is more beautiful than the Split Ring Jump it is just as problematic and may only be performed by Bai Yawen (cries.. guess we’ll never see it again).

Split Ring Leap: D Rating

This one is perhaps the most trash leap of all time, it literally never looks good, even when TingTing does it, so that’s how you know its bad. I feel like this leap should be scrapped all together as it is not pretty to look at and is rarely performed correctly. 

Switch Ring Leap: E Rating

Get ready for 900 tenths of deductions from this one leap alone. Literally no one gets this credited unless you’re chinese or russian and even then its questionable. It also has so many areas where you can get deductions: ring position, split position, the angle of the switch leg… etc.
