Something i noticed the other day is how alastor reacts to touching lucifer when they first meet. Alastor is dramatic and touch averse, so him wiping his hand on his coat after touching lucifer's cane isn't too surprising - it's a slight, a little dig at the king. But when he puts his hand on charlie's shoulder, and lucifer comes between them and takes his hand off of her, we see alastor actually rubbing his wrist right after. Almost as if it hurt. It's brief, but does not come off as a brush-off motion, an act of wiping something away. It's like he's cradling it, holding something that was injured.

Now I'm so curious to know what happens when lucifer touches a sinner. He can't "smite" them, and we see him stop short of hitting vox, probably because of his intent in that moment and divine intervention. But if he were to touch a sinner casually, what does that feel like? Does latent divinity burn? Does someone as demonic as Alastor have a more adverse reaction? Much to think about

Caravaggio was a criminal, an outlaw (alastor) and yet painted some of the most emotionally intense religious artworks of the baroque period (lucifer). He was disliked because of the way he portrayed well-known religious scenes as gritty and humane (alastor) and yet had a way of bringing these beautiful religious experiences to the common people (lucifer) and implying that all sinners had a chance to be saved and redeemed

Alastor likes the beheading of holofernes and the conversion of saint paul; lucifer prefers the calling of saint matthew. They pop up to earth to see the taking of christ on display together
