is it sapphic if a girl forms a psychic link with another girl and relives her every trauma? is it sapphic if she experiences death along side the other girl before walking away irrevocably changed? is it sapphic if the other girl didn't really die because a part of her lives on with her? is it sapphic if the girl walks away no longer just being herself, but a comalgamation of who she used to be and the girl she couldn't save?

There is a sapphic undertone to the story of Carrie but no one is ready for this conversation !

Carrie is a fat girl and yet we only ever get skinny Carries in live action because people can't possibly fathom putting a fat girl into a position where she is the sympathetic character for a reason that isn't fully related to her being fat and therefore unlovable.

If Carrie was fat, people would laugh along her bullies and directors absolutely don't want to make their audience uncomfortable by reminding them their own cruelty and showing them that a shy, fat, bullied young girl could kill them while becoming an allegory of the Angel that destroyed Sodome and Gomorrah if she had powers. One could thing that the horror genre is actually MEANT to disrupt their audience but apparently it's not 😑

For anyone wandering: "Des Satans jünste Tochter" means "Satan's youngest daughter". This is off character because Carrie is written as an Angel of destruction, as the vengeful hand of God but since I'm French and that Carrie's French title is "Carrie au bal du Diable" (Carrie at the Devil's ball), I think the title is extremely cool 😅! Congratulations to all the Germans out ther, you outdid the French at the "Who will make Carrie look the coolest ?" game 👏👏👏 ❤️‍🔥!

I'm not okay with this was a better Carrie adaptation than any Carrie movie that came out after the 1976 movie (which wasn't perfect and should've respected the reasons Carrie was bullied more but I still love it)
