Received very sad news today that Jack Lonsdale, local Sugarbush legend, passed away this week. One of the most amicable and downright nicest gentleman I have ever met ... I could easily spend hours chatting with him while he tended bar at Chez Henri. My Côtes du Rhône just won't be the same without you at the white marble bar. I recall a while back reading some literature on running ... "Running for Dummies" perhaps it was. Would make sense, because that's around my sloth-like speed. Anyhoot, it had said something about one of the overall benefits of running was that it was a rather inexpensive sport to partake in. Should I ever meet whomever penned that opinion, it would give me great pleasure to force feed said author my recent receipt at one of the local running shops. Good running shoes aren't cheap, nor are the corrective inserts for my horribly flat feet.
