Favorite character for me ended up being Purple! (Although I did like Green a fair bit too haha, and Orange was very entertaining.)

I do think it definitely helps that Purple has have a more developed backstory and we got more screen time with them, but they have a lot of depth. I think we see a lot of different emotion from them, and they’re pretty smart too! They also remind me a little bit of my Purple so I’m kinda biased haha. I’m happy they and Red made it, I feel like Purple deserved to make it to the end.

Favorite moments is very hard, ahh there are so many! But I think in general like episodes 7 and 8 were my favorite. Where they actually delved into like what an emergency meeting looks like and the emotions between the beans and their interpersonal relationships. The tone in this series is exactly what I wanted, a little goofy and silly at times but completely takes itself seriously when it needs to.

I really enjoyed the sad beans. Brown’s moment after Yellow gets ejected and they’re just done and walk away? Black sitting next to Cyan’s body, reading their journal and apologizing for the last things they said to them? Cyan crying in the freezer and Purple coming to comfort them and the two of them becoming friends? Red and Purple sitting down at the end together when everyone else is dead?

Also the like episode 4 reveal of Orange as impostor was absolutely wild, I was not expecting an impostor reveal so early and so obvious. Getting jumpscared by that was awesome.

Also also just looking back at some of the tiny foreshadowing and hints and stuff people have found now, like the moment Green and maybe Orange got turned into impostors or the hints with Green sitting on the vent and everything? Man it’s so cool to go back and look at stuff like that.

Watched this over the weekend but finally have had a chance to collect all my thoughts! I’m definitely going to be rewatching it now that I know what happened, I’ve already seen some stuff about subtle foreshadowing and tiny animation details and aaaaaah I am losing my mind okay

Once again I wrote these after each episode so these are pretty much my live reactions!

Episode 6:

I looked up the name of Purple’s fish from a few episodes ago Heracles in case it was plot relevant, and I’m not a mythology nerd but I don’t see too much of a connection? Like a strong guy who killed people and had to do impossible tasks and became immortal? I guess murder and tasks could be among us related haha- immorality as a ghost? Idk I’m struggling to connect this some mythology expert explain this one to me please 😭

LORE! There’s LORE! We get to hear Purple and Red’s backstory and the way I screamed at the screen ahaha! I loooooove the dynamic of Red signing the NDA and continuing to work for MIRA while Purple tried to literally be a whistleblower and got blacklisted, hello??? Corporate corruption?? In my MIRA? Yes please!

Also the fact that Purple ended up having to crawl back to MIRA anyways? Chef’s kiss bean corporate hellscape for the win. (Am I projecting with my terrible corporate job? Hmmm)

Purple’s really becoming my favorite here tbh

Cyan is dead 😭 I was convinced I would not get attached to this Cyan because I didn’t vibe all that much with the gemologist thing but uh oops I got a little attached to them anyways. Darn the curse of always getting attached to my favorite color bean. They had just befriended Purple too, I wanted to see more if that friendship! (I’m very biased to a cyan and purple friendship for obvious reasons lol). AND THEY DIED THINKING NOBODY REALLY CARED ABOUT THEM??? Their last words were crying?? Someone give that bean a hug 😭😭😭

We’re really getting into bean emotions!! I love the bean emotions!! I’m so happy that they’re actually making the beans have like deep feelings and taking this seriously, I am having an excellent time with this and I am so excited to read and maybe write sone angsty fanfiction.

Not surprised in the slightest that there’s a second impostor lol.

I don’t think they ever explained how there could be two sabotages at once (lights & o2) so I’ll just have to assume creative freedom there.

I feel like this kill is so weird because anyone who could have done it seems too obvious? Like Red would be obvious going off by themself, and people will probably sus Black but there’s no way they killed Cyan right after fighting with them like that. It also could have been Yellow I guess but I don’t sus them at all for some reason. But everyone else was in the room together, so how could this have happened? Could someone have slipped out of the room or something? Maybe Brown left at some point?

(Future potato note: I said in my notes I should go back and look closer at the scene in o2 but I didn’t end up doing that, I should have though haha hindsight is 2020)

No suspicion feels too solid, I’m not sure who I would think it is currently.

Episode 7:

The part in this version of the intro where at the table Black is like shaking Cyan to try to wake them up?? 😭🥺 my heart

THIS IS WHAT I WANTED FROM THIS SHOW! The emergency meeting goes crazy- accusations, throwing suspicion, a super super sad ejection scene with Yellow and Brown getting split up??? Like legit this is what I hoped this show would be and it exceeded my expectations.

PURPLE IS PURPLE!! Purple reminds me so much of my Purple in this episode it made me legitimately so happy. Liek pulling out the blueprint with the vents and telling everyone the impostor had to have vented?? Being the one to tell everyone there has to be two impostors?? I couldn’t write Purple Purpleyer myself!

The whole “this is the procedure” “then change it” “I can’t” exchange??? Jsjhsgsutegeisj that was so so so good, the beans are so trapped in this MIRA system and in this sunk cost fallacy of ejecting people even if it’s not right? GAAAAAHHHH

I’m still so iffy on Red, they’ve done sus stuff but they’re just like… too sus for it to be them? Like the show wants us to suspect them and that’s why I can’t.

Everyone being like “oh it couldn’t be Green” is weird. Why can’t it be Green specifically? Purple and Brown were also in O2. That’s making me meta-sus actually with how much people are overlooking Green. How much you want to bet that conversation about Green in like episode 2 where they say that they’re sus as a rumor is actually true in some capacity? I remember thinking about that but I think I forgot to include it in my note for that episode. Idk I feel like I need to stop meta-sussing this based on like writing conventions though haha.

On a similar note, the vote being down to the intern Green, putting so much pressure on them! I knew they weren’t going to vote Red, they’re Green’s hero. Very narratively convenient that it came down to them as the deciding vote… hmmm. Ok I’ll stop now.

It’s not Black because they wouldn’t kill Cyan I don’t think.

That med scan is probably planted in Yellow’s bag, because Yellow didn’t seem to be anxious at all about showing what was in their bag, just felt it was undignified. Also, if you stole your scan, wouldn’t you destroy it, not keep it around? Question is who could have planted it and when? Man I’m really going to need to go back and rewatch these later. My guess is on Orange putting it there maybe?

Red finally admitted that they don’t know what they’re doing! Character growth! (Also mood I never know what I’m doing)

Their version essentially of confirming ejects is the bean exploding or not exploding, which is very interesting, I like that a lot! Also the fingers from Yellow is very reminiscent of the like thumbs up versus hand thing for the Polus ejection.

Genuinely my favorite episode so far! This one’s going to be hard to beat.

Episode 8:

I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE ORE! The impostors were in the ore!!

The scene with Brown after Yellow’s ejection??? This show keeps punching me in the feels in the best way possible. Brown just walking away from everything to go off and do their own thing so resigned and sad and then being the next to die?? “I’m done” 🥺😭 AHHHHHHH (also vaguely familiar lol)

As soon as Brown walked off by themself and had that whole pizza montage I knew they were dying next but still!! Aaah I hope Brown and Yellow get to be little ghosties together because that is so sad.

Also also also, HOW DID THIS KILL HAPPEN EXACTLY? Literally everyone else is in the other room. Unless there’s some weird other creature lurking about, or maybe someone’s playing dead somehow? Like the impostor is in one of the dead bodies instead? But we’re running out of options here!

Red’s whole “I could kick that door down if I want to” thing was a little sus (and also wrong with how they could in fact not get into a locked door earlier lol) but again it feels too sus, they’re trying too hard for this to look like it’s Red.

Could someone have slipped out of the cafeteria? If so, who and when? How could they do it without anyone noticing it?

I think Purple is officially my favorite character now, I have decided.

I feel like Black is going to die next because they just discovered that very plot relevant information haha, leaving Red, Green, and Purple as final three. That makes sense because those three kinda feel the most main-charactery with how we were introduced to Green kinda first and Red and Purple have Plot™️ going on.

Well we know it has to be one impostor left because we’re down to four beans. If it were two, crew would have lost by now.

Black sitting next to Cyan’s body and reading through their journal?? Them reading what Cyan was writing about everybody and trying to get to know them?? Aaaaaaaah

This is so sad- I love it so much.

I don’t want it to be over, we only have two episodes left! I’m not ready for it to end! We’re running out of beans.

Episode 9:

The fact that Black recognized the impostor initially like solidified it’s not some other creature onboard or some kind of corpse puppet and it had to be one of the remaining beans.

The scene where Black is standing on the table yelling at the vent is so funny to me because I was sitting there like… hey the game vents aren’t on the ceiling. They’ve been so careful about this why would they get that wrong- only for the impostor to come out of the floor vent below them was amazing I love that tiny subversion of expectations haha.

So it was Green! I wasn’t… not expecting it? Like I’ve been a little sus on Green for a while just from like a narrative/storytelling aspect and the role they seemed to slot into in the story? But I’m so curious as to how they actually did it with them being with other people at the times of the murders!

As soon as Purple was like ‘so you don’t remember that story’ that was 100% confirmation for me. But also, why wouldn’t they remember the story? How does that work exactly? Does it have something to do with the way their body like deflated, can they leave it behind somehow? But the others would notice if Green was flat Stanley all of a sudden lol?

Wait, they had added a vent in O2, (I wonder if we were supposed to notice that! Like it was different from the game on purpose to get us to pay attention to it) is there a way that Green could deflate but still leave a shell sitting there during that o2 conversation? But they were engaging with the conversation? How are they doing this??

I thought momentarily that Red was going to skip at that mini-meeting hahaha.

That 50-50 is a rough scenario to be in in game lol, I love seeing that represented in the show like that that’s so cool! Like it’s really awesome how this show feels like an actual game of among us but completely narrative at the same time. The writers did such a good job like please teach me your ways writers and showrunners and animators and everyone involved!

Red acknowledging that anyone who heard the story would know they were in the wrong? Character growth? Love it!

How are they going to get out of this one? I’m so curious as to if crew will survive or if everyone is going to die.

Episode 10:

IT WAS SO GOOD I CANT GET OVER HOW GOOD IT IS

I’m happy Red and Purple get to live! RIP the rest of the crew though, man those two are going to have trauma to live through. MIRA better not split them up I swear- (I want a season 2 to bad)

The salt water to defeat the impostors is such a cool and intriguing concept! I was not expecting that I really like that take. It’s also kinda interesting with Green having grown up on a worm farm and isn’t it like you put salt on worms to kill them? (Or is that slugs? I think it’s slugs) Either way very cool.

Also the ore being eggs specifically? Very neat, wasn’t expecting that either. I was just thinking like some of the ore happened to be infected, not all of it being alien babies!

Also uh… WHAT IS MIRA UP TO? #1 Rule of anything Among Us, never trust MIRA lol. I didn’t trust them from the beginning. That makes me wonder if like one of the impostors was actually a MIRA plant, like really wondering with Orange. Sure the impostor could just be playing the HR rep role but like… I could also see MIRA being involved in all this and putting an alien on their ship on purpose, especially to watch over their ore babies!

The sequence of battling the impostor was so cool, I was not expecting that much like blood and bean body horror in this? I was pleasantly surprised by that.

Also?? Getting rid of the ore and ending the series with a dramatic depressurization of storage? Ahahaha ok I know I’m just seeing patterns there but that’s pretty funny too.

I loved it. I didn’t just love it because I love among us, it was actually well written and entertaining.

Overall this show was so much fun, I cannot stop thinking about it and I love seeing that everyone loves it too! There’re were times I was literally screaming at my screen ahaha.

Also a bonus of nothing really strongly contradicting any of my personal headcanons/lore? Like there are a few things that aren’t a perfect match but overall everything feels like it fits pretty well. I love their world and I’m so happy to get some official lore, especially between this and on guard?? Finally!

Ok I’ll stop now or I’ll be here forever but I know I will be thinking about this for a long time.

I wrote each section down after watching each episode so this is me learning things in semi-real time haha.

Episode 2:

I love the change in intro! The different games, White’s dead body, very cool very fun. I think I did see something about there being intro changes so this wants a total surprise but very cool I like that a lot and I’m excited to see how else it changes when inevitably more beans die.

I like how they approached the med scan where anyone is physically able to do the scan, and then they just have to figure out what the anomaly is. It makes the task make a lot of sense. Also those scan papers are definitely going to be important.

I think everyone did get a scan done but since they’re approaching scans differently that doesn’t seem as important to check who and who did not get scanned.

Wasn’t Cyan tapping their foot when they got scanned? Unsure if that is important. I don’t think Lime not wanting to be scanned is important, their whole personality suggests they wouldn’t want to be scanned haha.

Pink goo was an interesting color choice because there is no pink onboard, but I almost think that’s either intentionally misleading or they just didn’t think about that, I’m not sure it being pink is very significant.

They talked about the ore cracking, which I assume happened during the whole depressurization fiasco from episode one. It makes me wonder if whatever makes people an impostor could be in the ore itself and got unleashed when it cracked? Everyone I think was in the room when that happened. Maybe that’s why Orange is so concerned with the ore being cracked? MIRA knows about that somehow? Maybe I should keep an eye on anyone who handles the ore.

I did get spoiled that Blue was going to die but it was pretty obvious from this episode that would be the case, they were just too useful haha. Also the everyone falling head over heels from them thing would get pretty old pretty quickly.

Beans do seem to have interest in romantic relationships but also appear to be genderless, this is fun. Also canonically ace beans maybe? Or it could just be green. Regardless I love that they’re just little they/them blobs.

Cameras in black and white is so funny.

There’s a specific floor sign that’s something like “caution dead body” or something, which is very specific. It could be a gimmick but with that and the waivers and just Orange in general it feels like MIRA has to know about this impostor issue right? Orange also says the ore is more valuable than the crewmates’ lives, and even the ship is more valuable then them. Just supports that they know about this and don’t care.

Lime has squishy bone syndrome! I don’t think that would make Lime’s scan boneless though. I also love that as an explanation as to why only Lime can fit in the vents. Very fun.

Comms are down so they can’t call MIRA, love it. Almost makes me wonder if the whole ship crashing thing was like a way to hide or cause a sabotage? Using it as an excuse to sabotage maybe?

Episode 3:

I was expecting the intro to change with Blue’s death but it didn’t. I guess because at the beginning of the episode it wasn’t clear that Blue was dead? I thought it was clear but I guess not haha. We’ll see a dead body next time!

First emergency meeting! I got so excited when I saw that meeting popup happen, yesss this is exactly what I wanted from this show! I love that the crewmates are suspecting each other and throwing accusations, very fun.

No bone in the scan is really interesting, that that’s how we tell they’re an impostor. It makes sense though! A second scan missing also makes me think two impostors. Either impostor took the scan from the pile when they potentially vented into the room, or it was someone important who could’ve taken the scan like Red.

I don’t think Purple’s thing in o2 is really that sus, I think it’s a red herring. My guess is it’s probably some kind of pet in there or something, maybe it’s something they found or picked up along the way? Impostor pet? Although a secret pet being an impostor somehow seems unlikely.

I still don’t trust MIRA, but that may be my own biases.

It’s interesting how White and Blue died differently, White chopped in half and Blue’s face gone. Different kill animations or methods?

I also just love how they approached the alien thing. It being brought up by the conspiracy theorist, everyone kinda discounting it, and then Lime being almost right but not quite right (Henry Stickmin reference! Sticks as aliens joke theory is so funny.) It feels a lot more realistic as to how people would discount the impostor being an alien. And then to turn around and get instant confirmation not only that it’s an alien in Red’s book, but also implied confirmation that MIRA must know about the alien was wild I love that.

I was pretty sus of Red for a while. First thing is when they were trying to get into medbay Red literally broke the door handle, which could have been intentional. The whole “Aliens aren’t real and if they were they wouldn’t like to kill” made me almost sus of Red being sone kind of passive non-murdery alien? Like they seemed personally offended lol. But at the very end when it shows Red looking at the handbook and it does say that aliens are real and they like to kill makes me think instead that they were directly referencing that, which makes me less sus of it. (Also I love the nod to the kill animation there lol)

I don’t think it’s Lime at all anymore, but I think they want us to think it’s Lime with them being an engineer with access to the vents, their squishy bone, and not being there when White died. It’s all too obvious.

Speaking of Lime though, there are extra vents! There’s a vent in o2 and in storage which is interesting.

Episode 4:

I had to start writing stuff down immediatley as the episode ended because WHAT? My Judas theory was right? Ahaha!! I’m not like suprised it was Orange in the slightest because of said theory lol, but I was not expecting to find out like that??? In episode 4?? First of all the impostor is absolutely horrifying I love it, I was not expecting it to be so horrifying I’m very happy. There is gore and bean body horror in this! Make the impostors scary!

But also like… there is 100% another impostor. We’re on episode 4 lol. (There could even be two more impostors technically! Although the three to eight ratio is a little yikes haha)

This also has really interesting implications potentially for MIRA. Unless the impostor infected or impersonated Orange (I don’t think we have confirmation directly on how impostor works yet) from the ore or some other method after they launched, that would imply that MIRA knowingly sent the impostor on this ship. Wild.

I was right about the pet in the last episode! Was not expecting a fish though, I was thinking like a slugmate or something along those lines. That’s so so so interesting that MIRA doesn’t allow pets because it contradicts directly what we see in game with the wide variety and availability of pets. Are the crewmates sneaking them on board regularly? Or has policy changed at some point?

I’m curious about Purple’s backstory, especially with them having potentially known Red before. They seem to have some kind of mysterious past. I’m really intrigued if it’s going to have anything to do with the among us story: on guard thing that’s coming out, because isn’t that a purple security guard? (Obligatory purple guy reference lol) And I could do a whole analysis post on that trailer (I should before the demo released tomorrow actually) but it looks like things are going to go wrong down the line in it- potential tragic backstory? Intriguing.

Seeing Purple and Cyan become friends makes me so happy because my Purple and Cyan were friends <3 (also very neat to have mysterious serious Purple and emotional Cyan, they remind me of my beans 🥹)

Seems like we’re kinda in a one death per episode type thing, which is very interesting with 10 episodes! That ratio would probably break down later but who are going to be the last beans standing? I feel like one of them is going to be Red or Purple.

Green going to the reactor and trying to fix it with the emergency hand plate and and Red being like ‘uh that’s actually only for real emergencies’ was so great, I was looking at my screen preparing my ‘um actually’ face but no the show did it for me. Makes me wonder why Green was trying to fix it that way though. I suppose they are an intern, but that doesn’t seem like a very intuitive solution.

Lime is dead, it wasn’t Lime haha.

Episode 5:

Cafeteria garbage chute ejection!!! That’s so wild, I had written a garbage chute ejection back in the day but then changed it because I was like… there’s no way that makes sense… but it was legit! That’s so wild.

The way they were all like ‘let’s throw out Orange’ and Orange immediately was like ‘uh actually per procedure you have to vote first’ was wild that made me so happy I screamed at the screen hahaha. Also, once again I’ll harp on this- they have a standard procedure for that?? Like they definitely know what’s going on (unless impostor orange is making all this up but that seems unlikely). Not sure what Orange thought they would accomplish by holding vote other than confusion but everyone went along with it anyways! Very funny.

Also, Orange constantly reminding Red of procedures, impostor giving another impostor advice? Hmm idk.

Also also, Orange was so calm about the whole ejection thing?? Hello? Momentarily with Orange being the MIRA person it almost made me momentarily wonder if this was some kind of training exercise or something, or planned in some way. The other explanation I thought of is that Orange knew they wouldn’t die from this, although the impostor ended up quite literally exploding which looked pretty death-y? Unless the goo can like reform or re infect someone or something.

The second half of the episode…it was a little weird for me lol. Not entirely my sense of humor haha. I guess we do have confirmation that the things on their backs are like removable backpacks, not part of the bean? Intriguing. Not going to lie I was not loving this part of the episode initially, but then the oxygen sabotage plot twist?? That totally saved it for me. Makes a ton more sense and now the beans are in life-threatening danger!

RIP fish ☹️

Oxygen sabotage and lights sabotage at the same time? That’s really weird. I want to see how that is explained if it is. I do love the sticky note of this only being part one haha. Lights being out, I’ll have to keep an eye out for anyone who seems to be able to see better… hmm.

Could the second impostor be a copycat killer somehow? Are they another alien or just a bean?

I’m curious as to how we’re going to fill 5 more episodes! So excited to see what happens next.

Suspicions so far:

Red and Purple are kinda sus to me, but also not sus at the same time? Like I feel like the show is trying too hard to make Purple sus haha. I’m going back and forth on red to sus as maybe even just an alien cause of that episode 5 interaction, but also they very clearly were referencing the guidebook so…

I’m not super sus of Cyan, Black, Brown, or Yellow, I feel like they’re all kinda got their things going on. Maybe Cyan revenge plot for people being mean to them? I don’t really see that though.

Green hasn’t done anything sus yet really so I can’t actually pin anything on them, just kinda a brief meta sus as like oh they’re the innocent unpaid intern were introduced to first, I’d have fun writing them as the impostor haha.

I’m sure there’s more things I’m forgetting but this post is so long and I want to watch the rest of the episodes today so that’s it for now. I am loving this so far, once again, I am so happy it’s good.

Okay first of all… I’m so happy it’s good ahaha

I am sure I am at least a little biased but I did genuinely enjoy it! It was pretty funny and it didn’t really feel that cheesy or memey, and it wasn’t just a “children’s show.” I liked the humor, this was what I was hoping for! Only a little disappointed it’s so short, ten 11-ish minute long episodes. I understand but I want more and I’ve only finished episode 1!

Next thing: my analysis post was right about a few things! I got the type of pizza correct (I laughed out loud when they said what kind of pizza it was) and White died first!! I so called that ahaha I’m proud of that :)

We finally found out what those red round things were, trust balls apparently haha.

Also small thing but… genderless beans perhaps🥹?? I don’t think gendered language is used once for any of the beans, and at least both red and white are referred to as they/them! Very cool!

Form a lore perspective, actually lines up with some of my own headcanons/theories. I love that MIRA is front and center of everything, very cool. I do not trust MIRA as a corporation in the slightest haha, after all what well-intentioned space company would select someone in a random contest to be part of a space mission… wait a minute

Anyways, they’re mining ore(plus)! Mining mission! As an energy source!! Yessss! It being mined from asteroids is a little different than a planet but very similar concept! Very cool! Nothing directly contradicting my headcanons yet haha.

As for the actual murder mystery, I’m intrigued! It’s a little hard to tell how long it was between almost dying via depressurization and party time, so we don’t know where everyone was when whit got hit but at the scene of the party itself we see I think everyone but Lime. I feel like Lime’s set up to be a little sus, after all they are the “engineer” so they’re in the vents and they were talking about seeing stuff in the vents I think so a possibility perhaps? Get people comfy with Lime being in the vents as engineer but they’re actually imp? Idk on that though.

I know it was probably just dramatic effect the way White stumbled for a bit and then died like that, but if this was modern among us I’d be concerned about a phantom lol.

Idk but I’m thrilled, I’m having a great time! Now trying to decide if I want to binge the rest of the episodes to avoid spoilers or watch them slowly… hmmm.
