Yesterday’s socially distant adventure was quite the trip.. I was expecting 10” of soft spring snow from a Sunday snowstorm, however I missed the part where it rained Mon/Tues and we instead found a wall of ice. Skinning up was incredibly difficult and skiing down wasn’t too much better. I’m incredibly proud of my friend and I and this lil wonder pup for making it up and down in one (very bruised) piece.

S and I headed up to a closed resort with our pup, the snow was incredible and I’m thoroughly wiped. Ski touring is the hardest workout I think I have ever done. Hiking up a snowy mountain with heavy skis is humbling and a type 2 kind of fun.
I feel a bit guilty, I know we’re supposed to be staying home but I need mountain air to combat my anxiety, especially now during these super anxious times. We stayed 6+ ft away from the few ppl we saw out there, except maya who has no concept of social distancing and insisted on getting pets from everyone
Happy Monday! Had a great ski day with s yesterday and I’m getting mentally prepared for what I know is going to be a busy week. I have a drug test for work next week, and I think (hope) I’ll be ok. But I’m also going to use it as an excuse and motivation to stick to a harder than normal workout schedule.
So my goals are to go to hot yoga 2X this week and at least go for 1 5ish mile run. That combined with my typical 2-3 horseback rides and 2 ski days and working a bit late a few days should make for a busy week.
