HELLO SMALL COW
*SNIFF SNIFF*
What gets me is that after the dog realized they were kinda scared, he/she lied down so the cows could be in control and feel safer. Such love. Animals are amazing.

When my cousin Olivia was three, she started preschool and became best friends with a boy named Abraham. Most people called him Abe, even then, because Abraham is a mouthful for a three year old and, to most people, it’s the logical nickname.
Not, however, according to Olivia, who decided to nickname him Ham.
No one’s really sure whether she wasn’t totally listening when he was introduced and only caught the last part of his name, or if she decided Abe was too boring a nickname, or maybe she was just hungry, but the nickname has stuck for the last twenty years. Of course, Olivia was and still is the only person to use it.
When they were seven or eight, he decided to get back at her by calling her Olive. That nickname stuck, too, and they’ve been Olive and Ham since. But only to each other. They get highly offended if anyone else calls them that.
Last night was their seventh anniversary, and Abe proposed to Olivia, and she said yes. And how did she announce it on Facebook, you may ask?
People used to tell me “If you like ham so much, why don’t you just marry it?” So I am.
Shout out to Olive and Ham, who are still engaged and adorable and who are planning on getting married sometime next summer
“Never apologize for how you feel. No one can control how they feel. The sun doesn’t apologize for being the sun. The rain doesn’t say sorry for falling. Feelings just are.”

you know what’s really irritating
when male academics constantly refer to men by their surnames and women by their first names
like you’d never go to a lecture expecting shakespeare to be referred to as “william” but it’s not at all uncommon to sit through an entire lecture in which jane austen is referred to constantly as “jane”
it’s such a petty thing but it just really rubs me the wrong way, like it has a real suggestion of respect and admiration/lack thereof
kind of like how during the 2016 election everything was Trump vs Hillary
did y’all, perhaps, forget there was a whole other Clinton in office before and that maybe they used her first name to avoid confusion, lol?
We’ve had two President Roosevelts, no one refers to them as Roosevelt and Franklin. Even newspaper headlines from the times called them simply Roosevelt
We recently had two President Bushes. Bush Sr. was still alive when Bush Jr. was running and in office, and news agencies still referred to him as Bush
America was able to read this headline and hundreds like it and know which Bush it was talking about. When the news mentioned a Bush vs Gore debate we all knew that it wouldn’t be the ex-president debating
There was even a Bush running against Trump in the primaries and no one said Jeb vs Trump
Touché.
i’m finally watching queer eye after seeing so much of it on my dash and nothing could have prepared me for the fact that antoni finding a bag of teeth, jvn using a comb with lice and tan being shocked at the mention of frasier crane aka The Gay Panic Trinity are all from the same episode within 2 minutes of eachother
You’re all monsters
even her?
No!!! Of course not!!!! She’s wonderful!
you fool!!

Morally grey: A character who does too much bad to be a good person, but does too much good to be a bad person.
Sympathetic villain: A character who is a bad person, but whose backstory/character arc makes you feel sorry for or sympathetic towards them.
Anti-hero: A character who does bad things to achieve a good goal.
Anti-villain: A character who does bad things to achieve a goal that they believe to be good, but is actually messed up.
Just plain annoying: A character who does bad things to achieve a bad goal but has one throwaway line about a hard childhood that is expected to put them into one of the aforementioned categories when in reality it just makes them annoying
Remind me again why Snape is consider a Morally Grey character instead of Just Plain Annoying..?
Because apparently having an obsession with a dead woman magically erases child abuse in this day and age
Draco Malfoy was morally grey, Severus Snape was just plain annoying.
Y E S and yet Rowling insists Snape was a hero all along while Draco is not redeemable in any way whatsoever.
Does that mean Voldemort was a sympathetic villain? Cause his backstory really was quite a wreck.
That’s a good question, I personally believe that the sympathetic villain category has an inherent subjectivity to it that the others do not. As it says a sympathetic villain is a character who is a bad person, but whose backstory/character arc makes you feel sorry for or sympathetic towards them, therefore wither or not a character can be categorized as a sympathetic villain is up to the independent reader or viewer.
Does Voldemort’s backstory make him a sympathetic villain, that depends, did it make you feel sympathetic?
I enjoy your proposition and I raise you. Compared to the others this one is quite subjective. I appreciate your addition very much.
