The most interesting question you can ask about any character is not what do they want. it's what do they believe they deserve. because those two things are almost never the same and the gap between them is where your entire story lives. a person can want love completely and believe they don't deserve it and that belief will destroy every good thing that comes toward them in ways they won't even notice they're doing. write the gap. the gap is the character.

Sometimes good things feel so real and so scary because we care a lot. We become afraid of failing or being undeserving or looking vulnerable because of how invested we actually are. But taking a chance to do something you want to, something you know is a good thing, even if we make mistakes… it’s worth it. You’re worthy. Making mistakes doesn’t mean you failed. Being seen making those mistakes doesn’t make you undeserving of your dreams and it doesn’t mean you’re weaker. You deserve to do this for you. It sucks that it’s scary to be seen trying something new, but it’s a good thing to care. Take that chance. You’re good enough for it.
