Writing is a form of therapy; sometimes I wonder how all those who do not write, compose, or paint can manage to escape the madness, melancholia, the panic and fear which is inherent in a human situation.

Marvel is going to be the death of me

It’s going to fall off, you know. That smile you’ve been taping to your lips. That happy that’s only living on the surface of your skin. I should know. I watched it crumble time and time again. Watched you pick up the pieces and pretend you cannot see the cracks. Watched you tell yourself you are filling them with gold like the Japanese do even as you forget the glue. Watched you write poems about the snow and the streams and the breeze but never about the wind that’s howling in your chest. Never about the storm that’s brewing in your bones. But it’s going to fall off, you know. This temporary shelter you built out of the scraps of survival you managed to find as you barely managed to manage your mind. One of these days, it’s going to fall off and you’re going to be faced with the wreckage you left behind.

There are some people you’ll never see again. At least, not in the same way.
