Music tag. I wanna see what y’all have been listening to this year.

I was going through some of my old posts, because I’m feeling nostalgic-like tonight. I stumbled across mine from 2018 and thought it would be fun to do one for 2019. I’m also continuing to only choose albums that released this year, not just music I was feeling this year. (This list would be completely different tbh. If you’re interested in that list lmk and I’d love to talk music with you.) They’re in no particular order, except for the first one.

Rules: List your top 10 favorite records of 2019. Also, tag people if you want. I’m not gonna tell you how to live your life.

1. James Arthur - You; I’m gonna be that basic white girl and say this was likely my top album of 2019. I have been patiently waiting for another album from him since “Back From The Edge”. Something about his music just gets to me and hits my heart in such a different way than most music.

2. Harry Styles - Fine Line; Would you believe I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THIS ALBUM? I’m unsure how I could ever forget about the LOML that is Harry Styles. Love the recognition he’s getting for this album. Love the love he continues to get.

3. Ariana Grande - thank u, next; Bops. They’re all bops. No explanation is needed.

4. Jonas Brothers - Happiness Begins; I’m sensing a trend for my music of 2019 - basic. I’m proud of it tho. 13 yo me died a little when they dropped the first single off of this album. Now I’m patiently waiting for an N’sync reunion. (A girl can dream.)

5. Lizzo - Cuz I Love You; “I know I'm a queen but I don't need no crown. Look up in the mirror like damn she the one”. Lizzo released my anthem of 2019 before I even knew I needed this anthem.

6. Hobo Johnson - The Fall of Hobo Johnson; I hate myself for liking Hobo Johnson as much as I do, but ya girl was so thankful for a Not Youtube version of February 15th.

7. Maggie Rogers - Heard It In A Past Life; I honestly hadn’t ever paid attention to her up until a month or two ago and idk why I never did. But definitely worth a mention in my top 2019 albums.

8. Jeremy Zucker - brent EP; Uh, this EP just hits my heart in a way that’s almost masochistic. It will immediately put me into a sad mood the moment I listen to it, but like, that’s the post when I’m listening to it? I want to have that sad moment and this gets the job done.

9. i don’t have one anymore - The Sonder Bombs; 2019 is the year of “fuck guys”. Well, every year is that, but 2019 really gave some reasons for it. This song is, how you say, magnifique. “Moving forward from here I think you should stay clear of me. Moving forward from here I don’t have to explain myself to you or anyone else.”

10. Maren Morris - The Bones - with Hozier; I’m not a country person, at all, but something about Maren Morris just drags me in. Mostly when she does her pop bangers. Add in some Hozier and you’ve got a match made in heaven.
