Hello! I'm assuming this is about Lucas?

So Lucas and @matchboxcat's oc Mars are two dnd characters in a Greek mythology related campaign. Our dm took inspiration from our collective love of mythology and media like PJO when creating the world. Basic premise is that in modern day America, the Greek gods don't have the power to directly interact with the world, but can choose one human to kind of represent them. Lucas was chosen by Apollo, and Mars by Ares.

These two are a couple of gay boys trying to survive(alongside some friends) in a seemingly never-ending and hopeless godly war. And the pining between these two goes crazy.

I'm not going to say much for Mars, but Lucas is a seemingly charismatic, slightly above average teen boy. He's on the track team, plays violin, and does archery as a hobby(but quickly learns he cannot shoot in battle). He's been deeply in the closet for a while, but is finally being dragged out.

I've honestly been pretty mean to him when it comes to backstory, and a lot of it was never really meant to leave my head. His family is rich but all pretty shitty. Got the classic abusive dad and a mom who's also a victim but takes it out on her innocent son. The only person who he thought loved him(creepy uncle 😔) died in a graphic way and Lucas found the body. I really should've been nicer to him. Sorry Lucas :((

He also does the illegal drinking and smoking(he's 17), but I'm sure Mars with the power of gay will get him to stop.

Uhhh yeah idk I'm tired sorry. I'm sure @matchboxcat would also love to yap, they'll probs rb this at some point.

(for context I've been trying to get @matchboxcat to read the Bartimaeus Sequence and they started quoting shit and I thought for a second they actually started reading it but this asshole is just reading fanfic of it rather than the source material)

So I’ve always thought he’d use a mobility aid because a lot of serious injuries will cause some sort of mobility issues, and also I think canes are fun to draw. With severe burns, probable muscular atrophy, and most likely broken bones, he’s gonna need it.

I gave him a turtle neck bc I feel like he’d try and hide as many scars as possible. I feel he’d also wear something more comfortable because he’d probably have chronic pain and I gotta give him some solace. Kitty gave him the amulet back because Nat has even more of a chance of getting himself killed now. He also has long hair because 1) I like it, and 2) if he’s stuck in a hospital bed for a long time, he probably wouldn’t be cutting his hair and it would grow out.

So I wanted to include something for the staff breaking, but wasn't sure what type of damage it’d do. Then I remembered lichtenburg scars/figures, and thought some magical scars going up to his face would be cool. This is more for fun lmao. I also gave him greying hair because of stress and damage to his head/scalp.

Warning: Below the cut is a drawing of a fourth degree burn, which is a burn that goes past the skin and down to muscle, tendons, and bone. It’s just a drawing, but it might seem uncomfortably gorey to some people. I recommend if you are searching 4th degree burns up, you turn on safe search to blur the images, they can be quite disturbing!

Cain, he/it, pansexual, 20: Cain actually hasn't been used yet! He's for a campaign my friend will be dming soon. He escaped a really strict cult focused on "purity", and with his new found freedom, he became a total drug addicted slut. Then he was sent to a psychiatric facility, which is where the campaign will start.

Lucas, he/him, bisexual, 17: Lucas is in a current campaign that takes place in modern day DC with a greek mythology twist. He is based around Apollo! He grew up with really rich(but shitty) parents. He has lots of issues, but he is now learning to have actual relationships with people and is in the process of getting his sad little boyfriend.

Spronkels(don't ask), They/Them, something like bisexual, unknown age: Spronkels was the first dnd character I ever made! They were used in two campaigns and have changed a lot. They're an ancient being who has a terrible memory and is not wise whatsoever. They like to eat rocks sometimes and is the beef of the party. They may be scary sometimes but they're just the gender-neutral version of a himbo.

Valzrie/Val, He/They, gay, 19: Val grew up as a girl in a family of nobles. At 17 he ran away to try and become a performer, but while he had the charisma, he couldn't play an instrument or sing to save his life. He turned to a life of being a petty thief and a conman, but still held onto the artist dream. Sadly he only got used in 2 sessions because that dnd group fell apart, but I hope to use him again someday and give my boy another chance!

Samael/Sam/Sammy, He/him, somewhere on the acespec??, 27: Sam is used in another campaign I'm currently in, which is a more classic fantasy setting and based off an adventure book! From a young age he worshipped a goddess of death and would go through the aftermath of battles helping fallen soldiers move on to the afterlife. But at 23, people of a town nearby his temple destroyed it with fire, believing he and death were evil. Since, he has been wandering, trying to avenge himself and his goddess. His favorite cantrip is spare the dying, it's the only reason his party is alive.
