I’ve had a couple people sending me questions and asks about Tumblr Prom, asking what it is, when it is, what are the guidelines, etc etc, so I thought I’d answer those questions in one go instead of multiple different asks that might not be seen!
A: Due to COVID-19, a lot of proms and homecomings and school dances in general are being canceled, leaving many high school students without their high school dance. Quite disappointing! So, to try to help counter this, a couple people on this here site called Tumblr decided to bring together another Tumblr Prom!
A: I’ve heard of another date going around, but I’m sticking to the first one i saw, which is May 10th, 2020!
A: Ask someone out, or multiple people out (as I have)! You can post pictures or drawings of you in fancy prom/dance clothing, maybe jamming out, just having fun! Interact with other people partaking in this, maybe do some prom RP, just whatever you want to do to emulate a real prom, or as close to it as we can get!
Q: Is there a limit to how many people you can ask out?
A: I don’t know for sure, but I’m saying no! I personally am “going with” 15 people (as of right now) and I know of many other people going with more than one date!
Q: You know that there was already a Tumblr Prom, right?
A: Yeah, I know! That was a long time ago, however, and now there is an even more pressing reason to have one now which is why we were not only letting history repeat itself, but we are helping facilitate it!
