My husband and I just got a second apartment in the city for during the week. Today was my first day making lunch for us. I made a beautiful spaghetti with tomato sauce and was about to make a frittata. We were out on the veranda for approximately three seconds. And the wind blew the door shut and locked us out while the spaghetti was almost done cooking. After about ten minutes we finally found a way into the house but needless to say lunch was not editable. This is a lunch I have been making since I a small child. I can do this with my eyes closed. And yet I almost started a fire after about 36 hours in a new apartment. What’s the lesson? When you are just starting out you are going to burn some sauce. And it’s ok. You just have to go out and make some more. Be patient with yourself and remember it’s ok to make mistakes along the way. That’s how you learn.
