Genuine love for Jesus manifests itself in obedience to His commandments.

God sometimes allows us to feel anger so we’ll recognize when we’re being mistreated. But even when we experience true injustices in our lives, we must not vent our anger in an improper way.

Renewing the mind is a little like refinishing furniture. It is a two-stage process. It involves taking off the old and replacing it with the new. The old is the lies you have learned to tell or were taught by those around you; it is the attitudes and ideas that have become a part of your thinking but do not reflect reality. The new is the truth. To renew your mind is to involve yourself in the process of allowing God to bring to the surface the lies you have mistakenly accepted and replace them with truth. To the degree that you do this, your behaviour will be transformed.

“So why don’t you talk to each other anymore?” …. “Because,” he paused giving a soft smile. “Strangers can not start  a conversation with I’ve missed you even if it’s all there is to say.”

You don’t need a reason to help people. Just help them. You rise by lifting others.

Sometimes we don’t want people to see how we grow; We’re afraid we might cut them, while smoothing out our rough edges.

First admit that you are unhappy. Then admit why. Then understand you need to let go. Allow yourself a moment. Breathe in the moment deeply. Then the healing will begin.

The most beautiful women I’ve ever observed are those that have exchanged a self-focused life for a Christ-focused one. They are confident, but not in themselves. Instead of self-confidence, they radiate with Christ-confidence.

I’ll read my books and I’ll drink coffee and I’ll listen to music, and I’ll bolt the door.

I wish for the same thing I’ve hoped for since the beginning. I wish for a life so brave, so unpredictable, so full of unexpected joys and unforgettable love that no box could possibly contain all my memories.
