Are Americans supposed to just suffer and die if the country collapses
You'll figure it out.
So far for the entirety of your country's existence you've made others in the rest of the world suffer and die for your wealth, and they've had to just figure it out too.
Maybe once you guys collapse into civil war and get too busy with your own shit to interfere in the rest of the world we can start building a world without the CIA slaughtering everybody who wants to build a society without capitalism.
If you ever read ANYTHING about the left in ANY country you know how destructive the USA has been. You have brought nothing but death and destruction, and while it sucks for the people living there currently, it can only be a positive thing for the world if America perishes.
And to be clear I've got nothing against individual Americans. I mean, I'll support the Communist and Anarchist and Antifascist factions in whatever future the US has, but you know... if you have any knowledge of history at all its clear that the USA as an empire has got to be destroyed.
And like people in the comments also mention: you're not just a passive observer. You are a living actor within the present right now. you can minimize your personal suffering, you can minimize other people's suffering! you can try to direct history in the direction you want it to go, together with others! Organize!

My latest cartoon for New Scientist
To be clear, this isn't a bit. This is what they actually did. "Its too late" is the new "Climate change isn't real"... And its still a lie!
Every serious climate scientist agrees that there is no such as thing as too late, just as there is no such thing as too early. We should have done a lot more than we have to fight climate change, and the world will suffer for our inaction, but there is no point of no return. We can always work to reduce the amount of suffering that occurs, and eventually turn things around to the point where our planet is healing once again. Do not believe anyone who says it's "too late".

Here is reminder for both TADC fan blogs and TADC critical blogs, because literally everyone is pointing fingers at both the entire black and brown community AND entire transgender community for Goose's ban, as if it's not solely the fault of chronically online insane batshit antis weaponzing Tumblr staff's very well known bigotry who are pretending to care about the black and brown community which has only served to dramatically increase the finger pointing and harrassment tenfold.
Instead of asking "Why is my blog attracting so many racist/transphobic people," please ask yourself, "What am I doing that is attacting racist/transphobic people," in the first place.
Which I know sounds like the bare minimum and hardly anything, but I'm gonna be real here, I don't really know what else could be done to make the community safer for all of us at this point, and I honestly don't have much hope. When we got to the point of people calling ICE on black and brown fans/critics for the crime of stating their goddamn opinion when the Livestream came to light months ago, I don't think there's much that can be done to try to make the community safe outside of individuals trying their best.
In the meantime, please go outside and vote in your local elections, donate to both queer and black/brown charities, get involved irl, idk, just do something that will help bring change irl instead of purposely banning transfems and calling ICE on POC. Because what the fuck have we come to when we think this is bring any good to the communities hurt most by these actions.
Everyone is always entitled to their opinions and nothing is immune to criticism, but at the same time there is so clearly a arms race and a competition of who can silence the voices of the other more and this has gone so far beyond the original fucking controversy that I cannot see what the hell has been gained here anymore. And I guarantee there are people, both trans and poc who are fucking dead now because of this shit.
Always remember that fascists want us all dead. And they don't care if we dislike or like a tv show or the people who made for ANY amount of reasons. And turning against our own allies will do no good if the worst comes to be.
Please be critics and be fans with respect. And remember-- fuck all antis who weaponize serious controversies just to justify harrassment campaigns online rather then going outside and touching grass and getting involved irl in their own communities. Because this is how we fucking got here. What started from a place of wanting people to take accountability for making a racist joke has turned into, well... This. And if there's one thing both trans fans/critics and black and brown fans/critics agree on is we're all tired in one way or another.
We will both never be treated or seen the same way in this space ever again no matter what... and that sucks.

When someone is behaving erratically or unusually in public, this does not automatically make them a threat.
If you sit next to the person on the bus who you see as spasming and twitching... most of the time they'll continue to move the same way they were with no ill intent to you. It's not dangerous, it's tourettes/stimming/cerebral palsy symptoms.
If you chat to the homeless man yelling to himself outside the shops... most of the time you'll learn why he's upset, have a chat that makes him feel less alone, and he won't want your help or will calm down because he's been acknowledged.
If you check on the woman moaning and writhing in her seat on the train... most of the time you'll find she's hungover or in withdrawal or suffering from a chronic medical problem, and you can offer support that could make her feel better or save her life.
Most people aren't out to get you. Not everything about a person's behaviour is intentional or directed at you. Strange does not equal threatening.

Come to think of it, it really is insane that my entire country is burning alive and literally no one in the rest of the world cares. Thousands of Indians are dying every day from the heat, it's 45+ degrees in multiple areas, the government couldn't give two fucks, we're getting severe warnings and red alerts, and not a soul outside of South Asia is speaking about it because why would you ever care about brown people
please keep talking about how Becky from Maryland doesn't like the rising gas prices. It's clearly the more pressing issue.

The largest mass shooting in American history was a hate crime against gay people. Don’t ever forget that.
June 12, 2016. Putting a date on this for when it gets reblogged months from now by people who think the post is about something from 30, 40 years ago.
I am a survivor of the Pulse nightclub shooting, having grown up in Orlando and just turned 20 a month prior. If you didn’t know, there were several families who refused to claim the bodies of their relatives due to their sexuality. One family even had their relative’s name removed from the memorial. Murdered by the same hate with which their families reject them in both life and death.
Many, many people celebrated Pulse. We were told we deserved it. That it was God’s punishment for our sin of loving the same sex. We are sent messages like these I received in 2018:
We in the community often call the victim count 49+ to include the survivors who couldn’t live with the pain.
The event was never officially declared a hate crime or targeted homophobic attack and is rarely listed as one in databases.
At our vigils for those slaughtered, Extremist Christian groups showed up to protest, holding signs like this:
ID: Me kissing a woman I was casually seeing in front of an angry looking man with a “Sodomy is Sin” sign.
Please understand how much more than just a mass shooting this was. We are still to this day harassed and told we deserved it by some.
This year was the sixth anniversary. The first couple years I received dozens of messages checking in on me on 6/12. Year 5 got enough news coverage for people to think to reach out to me. This year it was my therapist, the woman I kissed in that photo, and a couple of other gun violence survivor friends. People are forgetting already.
With the 7 year anniversary <2 weeks away, I figured I’d reblog this

If criminals don't get to have human rights, then the people in charge of deciding what a criminal is get to decide who is and is not human. Do you understand? Is this not blindingly obvious? Do you care?
Or do you assume you will always be "one of the good ones"?

this one kinda hurts when i see it every pride month. im glad to see an art piece of mine still circulating, and with nearly 100,000 notes too! it just hurts that im separated from it. everyone in the notes thinks im gone. im still here, but my potential community and connection is lost because im forgotten in place of the art. yeah, my deactivated profile does add to the profoundness of what i was saying, but i am still removed.
