My TSH is 6.89....Wheeeeeeee fuck my life.
there is no reason for “sean” to be pronounced “shawn”
I sent this to my brother to make fun of him for his shitty name but he was much more prepared than I anticipatedÂ
Damn
Your brother is my favorite person.
this is how hyperthyroidism works

Though judging by how many of our patients are on levothyroxine, I suspect that behind King Thyroid’s mask lies sheer laziness…

I have discovered the chronic illness cat.
I hate the winter because I'm always freezing
…damn you thyroid
Preach.
It’s easier to close my eyes.. I can go back to my old life in a second.. I can forget who I am now.. I can be beautiful and fit again.. I dance and shake my shit with a deserving smile on my face.. I have strength and power.. I have joy and love seeing myself in a mirror.. Knowing that I...
When our body lacks iodine, the thyroids can not produce more hormones (hypothyroidism), but the hypothalamus stills releases TSH which stimulates the cells of the thyroid causing a hypertrophy.
Why thyroid function tests?
The Thyroid Federation International estimates that there are up to 300 million people worldwide suffering from thyroid dysfunction yet over half are presumed to be unaware of their condition.1
Some information about thyroid gland and the hormones:

My endocrinologist said that I have the 3 F’s of Hypothyroidism: Forgetful… um…
Yeah, you’re hypothyroid alright.
(I think the other two are “Freezing” and “Fat”, but I’m just assuming at this point.)
Update
Switched doctors since I'm back on my moms health insurance. My thyroid labs keep coming back normal. And overall I feel okay. Especially since my digestive system seems to have finally gotten its shit together. I'm still really tired most of the time though, and steadily gaining weight. I'm really frustrated. I haven't been seen by an endocrinologist because specialists are so expensive on Kaiser....but maybe I can work something out.
I finally got my internet back
Which is so, so, so amazing, I can't even tell you.
Which also means I should be able to go back to blogging on a regular basis.
That being said, I got my recent TSH, T3 and T4 tests back and everything is back in range. Thank God!
However, I'm still having serious cramping which I assume is the PCOS.
Houston, we have a problem.
So...I recently started dating again. It's been a good 10 months since I've felt the ability to connect to another person that way. Part of it was a break up that kind of (really) devastated me, and the other part was that I was feeling so sick, and my anxiety was running so high- I literally didn't have the energy.
But one day, I woke up and and decided that I was ready to give this a shot again and as luck would have it, less than 48 hours later I had a date...
Which went really well. We were out until 4am just talking, making out. Â And I knew I was in trouble.
We've hung out twice since, and have already had the conversation that this is something that's going to be taken slow, so we can really decide if we like each other. I know that I tend to jump the gun when it comes to guys. My last boyfriend and I were in a relationship after three dates. So...the fact that I'm sitting here, unaware- it's kind of causing me to panic.
I don't think it's thyroid related this time- because I've been feeling pretty good. But it's so hard to tell the difference. I'm trying so hard to be not annoying, and not clingy- when frankly I just want to know more about him. We texted pretty hard core the first couple of days- but he just started a new job and it's been busy. Which I understand. I do. Been there, have the t-shirt. So communication has slowed down dramatically.
And that scares me. More than it should.Â
I know that I'm being ridiculous- and I know that we have plans to meet up on Tuesday. But my head won't stop spinning and my stomach won't stop knotting.
I need to get my shit together or I'm gonna scare this kid away.
HELP.

It's been a busy couple of days
My sister and I got a new roommate and have been spending the last couple of days helping her move in.Â
I've had a lot of serious cramps the past couple of days which has made the whole thing pretty interesting but I think they're starting to settle down. It has also been hot as hell here this past week- which has been causing me to overheat like crazy. No chance of going outside for festivals and stuff...
Now I just need to work on getting my internet up and running again and I should be on pretty consistently again.Â
Making Changes
A week ago yesterday I turned 22 and after a night of drinking until I couldn't see straight- I decided that 22 was going to be the year that I get my shit together. Emotionally, physically, financially. The PCOS diagnosis came two weeks ago and that means I now have two disorders that kill your metabolism and make losing weight incredibly difficult. Taking my meds will only do so much and I used to be a really healthy water- but I've been living the "college kid" diet for about two years now and it shows. I decided to give the paleo diet a try. It's all food that I know I like (except eggs. I need recipes for eggs that don't taste like eggs!!!) and I'm slowly implementing it. I don't want to waste food I already have, but I eventually want to make it so I'm following the 80/20 rule. I have friends from work who are encouraging me and I'm really excited. I did my first shopping trip the other day and it's making me happy. And even just two days of cleaner eating I have more energy and don't feel gross after eating. Next is exercise. I decided to try the Insanity workout regimen. I was a lot more active last summer and I need to get that back. I did the first fitness test today and it completely kicked my ass. Now I just have to get myself motivated to get up and do the first day of training before I go work a double....wish me luck!
