Well um. I remembered I'm an adult human being that has responsibilities and studies........... Chapters are going to be reeeaaaallllyyy slow for now on. Sorry π
I don't see the point in making a blue lock fanfic were the female protagonist infiltrates in blue lock project just for them to not be a woman at all. Woman/girls have periods, cramps, hormone spikes, high pitched voice and different body type. It can be easy to sneak on the start, but when those problems knock on the door what would happen? And I believe you can't fool ego that easily.
I'm not even going to mention those fics were the female protagonist somehow don't even mentruate and are surviving with a wig.
That truly makes me want to make my own blue lock fic embracing those aspects.... Probably will
Warnings: kinda hurt w/confort?, Aggressive behavior, Bite, Mention of Blood.
"Um.. I don't remember much.. but it was some years ago.
Back then, she was just a little kitty me and my mother found close to our house, she was very small and fragile, and she was always trembling like a leaf too, like she was scared of everything." The green haired girl remembered, being followed by old memories of the past, ones she recalled well.
She recalled the black tiny ball of fur, curled up near the roots of a tree in the backyard of her house, it looked miserable dirty, completely vulnerable to the coldness of autumn and the dangers of the world. The heart of a little Coco couldn't help but feel sad for the situation of the poor kitty, feeling deeply touched by her situation.
It was so sad to look at that her eyes watered at the sight, and her lower lip trembled holding back a sniff.
She remembers screaming for minutes until her mother came to help pick up the kitten after it bit her finger when she tried herself. It was lost and pitiful, but it still had teeth. In the end, Her mother dealt with the fierce fluffy ball, giving it a good warm bath and some goat milk.
Everything after that was just memories of the kitty growing alongside her with the years, like a little sister of hers.
"She was the cutest thing ever when she was still small, it was so cute to watch her make biscuits on top of a mountain of fabric while my mom dealt with clients!" A warm fuzzy feeling flooded her chest, Coco lifted her hands to hold her hot cheeks from a sudden burst of cute memories. It felt so good to share those histories.
"I see, I can tell you have a deep bond with her." Qifrey commented. A deep in troughs expression covered his face.
"I do. I'm so happy to have her here after.. everything. Having her here gives me more strength and confidence to become a witch and undo the spell in my house!" She told with a determinate voice, her eyes glowing with the same feeling.
The man could only sigh, deep in his chest a light ache reminded him of his worries. And his new apprentice's determination was not helping no matter how beautiful her words were.
Should he tell her?
... Probably not, for now.
"Thank you for trusting me this, Coco." He thanked while brushing her hair with his fingers.
The girl only smiled and appreciated the attention. "Don't worry, Master! It's not like it's a secret anyways." She reassured.
"Alright then, let's get you started in the basics off magic, shaw we?" The male didn't wait for an answer, instead he took his way inside the atelier with an exited new apprentice following behind.

Time passes faster when you are a cat, the lack of responsibilities and worries makes every day life very simple, it could turn very repetitive and boring real fast.
That's why you always tailed after Coco, she was always up to something and doing something, could it be a rock she found by the river flat enough to bounce once or twice across the water, or helping her mother run her shop, cutting and folding fabric for clients with the prevision of a blade, watch her draw and cut straight lines perfectly never failed to impress you.
But being a witch requires more than simple straight lines, you needed more precision and different shapes, circles, arrows all that sounds so silly and simple, but aligning several arrows around a circle without having drawn it yet is more complicated than it seems. And that's take us to the given moment.
Coco sat besides her master, holding a wood carved pencil in her hand and holding a piece of paper in the table with the other, her tongue was poking out of her lips in a demonstration of concentration, her fingers trembling slightly trying to not fail the task. You sat right in front of the paper, face to face with the girl, but watching her movements with the same attention she poured to it. Qifrey who watched from the side, almost released a snicker at the sight.
The moment the outside circle closed, a reaction erupted instantly from the paper. A gush of water rushed out of the paper targeting the left, watering a once very quiet Agott with a cold surprise bath. The strong reaction from the spell made you jump up from the table startled, jumping surprisingly goods 1 meter before meeting with the ground with a thud. Qifrey got up slightly from his seat to make sure you were okay before turning to the now soaked apprentice and Coco. His face just as shocked as Coco's, feeling a little bad for his other Quifling.
You, on the other hand, blinked a few times before relaxing your body. Your fur that has straighten as part of the reaction relaxed with you making your tail flicker around in annoyance. You don't blame your owner, she is still new to this magic thing, but the black haired girl, now as wet as a fish, clearly didn't agree with you.
"S-sorry! I'm so sorry, It wasn't on purpose!!" The poor green girl panicked, not sure how to react as the victim stared her soul with hatred. And her reaction only got worse when she saw her colleague's spell all messed up by the water.
"Waaahh I'm sorry!! Don't worry, I'll dry it for you!" She assured in panic as she uses her skirt to generate wind. But wind so poor it would probably take some hours to fully dry Agott..
'Oh great heavens.. It's not time to make enemies, Coco..' you thought with a fake drop falling from your fluffy forehead, you patted her leg to stop her from embarrassing herself even more, she didn't paid attention to you.
You had to admit, it was very funny, the poor girl looked like she would eat Coco alive if she could, the only think holding her down was the teacher behind her "abuser" who also looked slightly panicked.
"Calm down, Coco! I'm sorry, Agott, are you alright?" He moved to get up from his place, offering support.
"It's okay, teacher, I don't care." She reassured moving her wet hair out of her face in a very nonchalant way.
you silently rolled your eyes and sighed at the sight, every pity you had for the girl vanished momentarily.
"Actually, could I please see Coco's glyph?" Qifrey handed her the paper, and she easily inspected it, her eyes landing on the excruciating mistake, very obvious in her eyes.
She moved close to the other girl, showing her the spell paper and point at the error. "See this? This key-symbol is longer than the others. That's why the water gushed from this side." She carefully explained it, making Coco blush slightly. The reaction made you squint your eyes a little... Was it because of shame? or the proximity? You could only guess, make sure to watch Coco more carefully now.
Qifrey handed the older apprentice a towel, complimenting her observation skills as she farmed some more aura at the opportunity.
"Great, I think I can leave Coco safely in your hands, Agott." The men said as he adjusted his clothes, putting a cloak over his shoulders and eyeing everyone in the room, which also included you.
You on the other hand, stared at him back, not voicing anything. After the jumpscare of water you decided to stay on the ground for safety means. You watched as Coco complained a little before Qifrey left for good to who knows where, you didn't paid attention anyways. You just had the feeling something was not going to work with this trust, you always have an itch every time you look at Agott, something's in her ringing your alarms, but she was just a kid, there is no bad she could do right? ..... Right?
(β =β ^. .^β =β )S
Qifrey used his boots to descend the staircase, not bothering to tire his legs, only to be surprised with a tug on the cloak causing him to lose his balance and fall on his but.
"Why bother to have stairs if no one uses them?" A woman spoke, in one of her hands laid a kind of scepter, the other one resting on her hips. A smile tugging on her lips after successfully tricking her friend. Her appearance was very eccentric, with double colored hair and a pointed hat like a medal of recognition, she carries herself with pride and confidence. "It's been a long time since you put your feet in 'the bottom of the ocean', your problematic."
The fooled man laughed, relieved by the reveal of his old friend, he extended his hand to her, hoping to get a little help getting up.
"That was a long time ago, Alaira." She helped him get up and the both turned to head inside the place, their voices echoing on the stone walls.
"Let's see, it seams like you still wish to cause trouble... I heard you took another apprentice!" Alaira commented as they walked.
"Already? The rumors travel really fast..." He complained.
"Well.. it could be related right? With the brimhats?" She questioned looking behind her back as Qifrey stopped right away. His face darkened instantly at the mention of THAT group, his entire face now covered in shadow, his eyes and ears now alert. But Alaira didn't bother, instead she kept talking. "It's been four years since the last usage of forbidden magic. That's an interesting clue, one you want to keep close, right?"
"That's not the only reason." He answered dryly. But quickly he allowed himself to relax, changing the topic quickly to avoid more questions. "She still hasn't done the test. So she isn't an apprentice properly said."
"Huh? She didn't?" His companion turned fully to face him now, changing the topic and focusing on the new one at hand.
"It's still too early, and the time is bad."
"Ah, yes. This season, the test site is on the Dadah range..." "It is at its highest elevation of the year." He concluded her words.
"I can't allow her to try the test now. It could cost her life." He explained. And both continued their path.
(β =β ^. .^β =β )S
Yeah you were damn right. That girl was up to no good, now she lost affection points with you.
You were currently at the front of the circular portal that leads to the test area, both girls made sure to keep their distance from you as you hissed and threatened to attack every time any of them tried to touch the portal. You were not buying her shit, Nuh uh.
"Please, Miss paws, or else I won't be able to be a witch!" Coco pleaded, she was anxious about you and your stubbornness to not let her do the test. "Why don't you let me do it? I have to! How can I save my mom and our house if I don't?!" Her voice grew rushed and more anxious.
"Can't you just shoo her out of the way? We need to do this before Qifrey gets back." Agora complained to the green haired girl. But inside her mind she was surprised and even scared.
'Why is the cat acting like that? It's like it knows about what we are doing, cats can't understand this kind of thing, right?' she thought quietly, observing its reactions.
Coco crouched to get closer to your eye level and slowly approached you, keeping herself low. You let a loud hiss and an angry meow at her, now focusing fully on her, your posture changing as an extra warning for her to get away.
But to your sadness, Coco knew you were not going to harm her, she was completely sure of it, so she got even closer until she was standing right in front of you. You hissed even more at her.
"Please, Miss Paws, please let me do this, I need to do this if I want to grow and prove myself capable of being a witch.." she tried, and seeing that she has your attention she continued. "I.. I want to do this, I want to prove myself. I WILL prove myself, I promise. Or else, how would I be able to get you back home with me? Back to mom? I promise you I'll do this right and walk back victorious from the test, but please, let me try it." She moved her hand to pet your head, making sure to brush that spot behind your ears that you always loved. You really didn't want to comply, but you left your guard down the moment she finished speaking.
You were worried, so much worried about her safety in this test, there was no guarantee she was going to succeed with the short knowledge she had, but something's inside you believed her determination alone would make it work. You looked into her eyes pleading silently for her safety, and she looked back at yours with a reassuring gaze. Slowly you moved closer to her, letting yourself be embraced in her arms and warmth, she quietly moved her fingers in the fur on your back, you rested your head in her shoulder. If you could shed tears, you would've. But this body didn't allow you to do so, and you could only regret every decision that made you like this. You made sure to treasure every second of this moment, her arms around you in safety, her warm fingers brushing your fur with the care of someone holding a beloved treasure, the both of you stayed that way for God knows how long, you just didn't want to leave.
But of course the nonchalant girl would like to lose some more affection points with you, just of course.
Agott faked a cough to catch Coco's attention back, not bothered to interrupt the bounding moment in front of her. "We don't have more time to waste, we need to open the portal."
'I swear I'm going to pee in your pillow. Just watch me' your emotions did a 180Β° turn and you were back to being angry, but this time you walked aside and let the access to the portal free. Coco smiled brightly at your acceptance and brushed your fur a last time as Agott worked to make the portal work.
"I promise you, I'll be back in no time!" Your owner promised you, before standing up and watching her helper working on the portal.
Finally it was open, right into the Dadah range entrance. Agott wasted no time and pushed Coco inside, before assuming an aura pose and saying.
"By the way, you can do this time once forever." And the portal closed. Coco was left speechless on one side and you were PISSED in the other. Agott moved to leave without caring to address you and you took the opportunity to strike. You aimed for her achilles tendons and took a big bite, putting all your anger on the action and catching her by surprise.
"AAH! YOU FREAK!" She reacted by trying to kick you as you released her injured leg, but you were quick to flee the crime scene after finishing your job.
You left her to hold her ankle and hiss in pain as blood slowly poured from her injury, your teeth marks now engraved in her skin. She holder more curses and sat on the ground holding her leg, trying to settle the pain before leaving.
(β =β ^. .^β =β )S
You waited until Agott left limping to her room to descend back to the portal. The circle covered in symbols you didn't understand yet greeted you with silence, and you took your time to look carefully at each intricate drawing adorning it. How it worked? You don't know, it should make sense somehow, the person (rather, the witch) who created it must be very intelligent and creative to come up with such an idea.
You sighed mentally, wondering what to do now, you were worried, but you knew she was going to do it. But the deep ache on your chest every time you consider leaving this room made you stay in place, giving in to your instincts and sitting down on the cold stone floor, watching the magical circle like Coco was going to jump right through it victorious and come greet you with lots of pets in the head. That was your ideal outcome, and the only one you hoped for in the moment.
'I just wish for your safety, Coco.' you silently prayed, frozen in place like a dragon guarding it's treasure. Or, in a way you don't appreciate, much like a dog waiting it's owner return.
(β =β ^. .^β =β )S
"Here is my order. I'll leave it to you."
"Yes, sir." The white haired man left the paper filled with mysteries on the table, giving a curt nod to his fellow witch companion. Alaira watched silently as he moved, her mind still returning to the recent topic discussed between the two friends.
"You wouldn't need to go out of your way just to get this if you lived here." She commented, abandoning her mind filled with questions. "The auditorium is the wizards' stronghold. All your needs in one place."
Qifrey turned to her, giving her his attention. "In that case, I'll only come when necessary." He retorted, by his side a little girl, an apprentice, gilded a basket for him to grab, he thanked the girl and returned to his friend.
"Say, Qifrey.. since when did you started liking pets? I've heard olruggio is the one with a soft spot for cats, not you" the double colored hair witch asked the question that was rounding her mind for a while.
"You could say it was a full package, It came together with Coco, one would not leave the other." He didn't think much to respond, but his thoughts backed at his efforts spend to dealing with the furred creature. "Although, I have my doubts about it's.. existence." He said.
"Do you think It is somehow related to the Brimhats?" The woman voiced quietly, making sure it didn't wonder to stray ears.
"I truly hope that's not the case." He concluded, and the conversation died there.
The silence instead was filled with doubt, questions and the sound of leather shoes against the hard floor.

Tetia was, to say less, worried. Coco came not even two days ago and she already found her mery little way around the witches affairs. But she couldn't shake the feeling inside her after Agott admitted to have indulged her to do the first test, she hoped she would come back in one piece. But then she discovered that Miss Paws, Coco's pet that has came in with her, has been sitting in front of the portal.
No matter how hard she tried indulging It out of the room, It wouldn't budge out of place. Her evening was filled with failed attempts of at least feeding the animal, which only made her more anxious.
"Come ooon, just eat a little please! I won't try to get you out anymore, I swear!" Her begs filled the room. But you paid her no mind. Not even averting your eyes. But your ears twitched at her words every time. She KNEW you was listening to her!
"What will Coco think? I'll be the worst babysitter in the world if I let you starve yourself!" She panicked, holding her face while crouched at your side. She looked at your undisturbed stance and sighed deeply, feeling sad for you.
She slowly laid down in her side, her arms serving as a pillow for her head while she eyed you with some kind of pity, or maybe understanding. It took some while for the words to come out of her mouth, blame her, she didn't know how to comfort a cat.
"Listen, I know you are worried for her, master isn't here to guarantee her safety on the test. But I am an apprentice and I have taken this test before." She chose her words carefully, her eyes never leaving your figure.
She knew you were listening by the way your ears moved in her direction. "I can assure you, she will be fine. The test is very simple to complete, she just need to grab a flower, there is nothing dangerous there!"
You were listening to her words, and her reassurance made you ponder for a moment, if they were true, it was a relief for your small fragile heart, but still, Agott's words still hammered in your head.
"You can only take this trial once."
That made you worried, because you know how stubborn Coco can be, you were worried she would exhaust herself trying or refuse to leave until she succeed.
Your eyes, heavy with guilt for some reason, abandoned the sight of the portal for a moment and wandered to Tetia. Her pink hair resembling the color of bubblegum in your memory, the word stuck in your head, but you were not sure what exactly it meant.
The girl smiled, glad you finally reacted to her.
"She will be fine, Miss Paws. I get it that you want to wait for her, but at least eat something."
You sighed internally, still hesitant, and looked back to the portal, weighing your options.
I was too lazy to revise the chapter if you see any mistakes please let me know!
"Alright, let's try this: We will go to the kitchen, you find something to eat since I have no idea what cats eat, and we come back here in less than five minutes, it's a promise!" She now used her elbows to keep her head up, laying on her
Hello, I'm glad to be back! That was a hard chapter to write, I can't recall how many times I have rewritten it.. I have an apology gift I'm working on to compensate for the lack of chapters.. thanks for reading, the next chapter is already being made!

It was morning. The sun has just started to rise above the horizon, the few early creatures being able to enjoy the bits of cold from the night as the earth slowly begun to warm up.
"Mama, mama! Look at this butterfly I found!" tiny fingers held a pitiful looking butterfly by it's wings, the poor creature unable to do anything in the girls hold.
"###, dear, don't grab it like that, you will rip it's wings off." The woman warned, her hair flowing with the morning wind as she spread out the sheets to dry.
Tiny footsteps approaches her from behind.
"Mama, do you think I could fly like a butterfly one day?" The girl asked, just out of curiosity, but she already knew the answer.
"Hm, Maybe, who knows?"
"Really?? If I turn into a witch, i could use magic to fly just like a butterfly!"
The woman left a sigh "###, we already talked about this.. But maybe, one day, you will be a witch." The woman had a sad tone in her voice, but it got unnoticed by the excited girl.
"Then I'm going to be the best witch of all times!" She stated bravely, a large smile stretching across her face. Her mother could only smile back to her. If only she could make her wishes true..
"Wake up."
You woke up feeling your heart beating in your throat. Everything in your body screaming danger was near, and you struggled to understand what exactly was the danger. Your brain could only try to process what was going on with yourself, almost like your body had memories your brain couldn't catch up with. Like a puzzle piece missing.
It was confusing and stressful, a vivid dream that never happened.
'Why am I reacting like this? What happened? Am I dreaming?' you could only guess.
But every Thought Circulating your mind was forgotten the moment you felt a light hand in your head.
"Oh dear, you sure had quite the dream, hm?" A soft voice spoke, and you did recognized it.
Looking behind you, a few lose pieces of memory returned to their place. Qifrey looked at you with a surprised face, his eyes looked a darker shade of blue in the dim light of the room you were in, he offered you a peaceful smile.
But something inside you coiled, an instinct deep in your mind screamed danger as you looked back at him. It felt off, unconscious, like a natural reaction you should have.
But it didn't make any sense. So you ignored it for now, and responded to him with a meow.
"You slept for a while. You looked so peaceful I didn't wanted to disturb you." He gently pet your head. You quieted the voices in your head and leaned in his touch. You just noticed your surroundings, you were in his lap, as he was sitting on a wooden chair close to a table filled with pens and books.
'How long are you sitting there? You stayed this long just so I wouldn't wake up?' There is no way you could receive an answer, with no voice to speak, you could instead only speculate inside your head.
"We should get going." He said as he holds you to get up and start moving to the door. "You must be hungry, and it is almost time to the lunch."
He grabbed the knob, waiting two seconds before opening the door.
You took the opportunity to twist yourself out of his hold, landing on the ground in four paws, being quick in leaving before him and hopping off the corridor.
'There is something weird about this guy.. i just can't point it out.' Shivers runned down your spine every time you try thinking too hard of it. So you abandoned the thought for good this time.
Qifrey never let his eyes wander away from your distancing form as he stood there, still holding the knob, a careful watch in his eyes before he started moving to accompany you to the kitchen.
There, you took time to look around, walking around the counter and sniffing everything that could be interesting, but the hole kitchen had a characteristic smell of flour, fresh vegetables and ink. There was no stove, only a stack of papers, a pot with ink and pens to draw. You could guess witches wouldn't use common methods to cook, they have the benefits of magic and knowledge in their hands.
"Alright, time to get to work!" Qifrey, who has followed behind you, grabbed a cloth hanging in the wall and swapped with his cloak. Tying it to prevent stains in his clothes.
You carefully observed him from the ground, you couldn't see much but you didn't risk getting on top of the counter.
You only did when Qifrey himself invited you to climb it with a nod from his head. But you still tried to be polite by standing in the corner, your paws close to your body and your tail swinging left and right in the air.
Qifrey worked silently, you would hear a hum here and there coming from him, small fragments of a song he had in his memories. Your mind starting to wonder and lose focus on the cooking process, instead you payed attention to how Qifrey started to treat you.
You don't remember how you got in that room with him, you could only remember following behind him as he lead you somewhere, everything after that was a void, one your mind struggled to fill.
But you had paid attention to him after that, from the way he talked to the way he treated you, it looks almost as if he was talking to another person, one of his apprentices.
He talked to you like you were human.
This made you look at him carefully, his eyes never meeting yours this time.
'That's it, is like I'm one of his apprentices, he talks like I could actually listen and understand him.' and you did, but from the outside you were just a normal cat, so it didn't make sense. 'It's like he knows I'm human.'
But, how?....
Maybe you were thinking too deep, he probably was only one of those guys that likes to chat with animals for fun. You remember Coco's Mother also had the habit of talking to you.
But thinking about it made your paws itch, so you licked them to relieve the stress and curiosity.
You could be a slow thinker, but by the time you noticed, Qifrey was finishing the last sandwich. In total were 5 of them, each looked different from the other. Separated in different plates with different colors, it was easy to guess the owner of each sandwich. But you noticed the plain white one with a sandwich that looked a bit smaller than the others. You wonder if this was Coco's.
After finishing, he picked up a small bell and rang it, announcing lunch time. Different pairs of footsteps were heard coming closer to the kitchen, the first ones to enter were Coco and Tetia, the last holding the hand of the former with a big smile. Following after was the blue haired girl, her expression was the same as you remember first seeing her, but you could tell she was hungry.
Lastly, an unknown girl with black curly hair and a stressed expression joined them.
Qifrey smiled at the girls, inviting them to grab a plate as he himself had a basket in his hands. Each girl took a different plate, with Coco being the last one, grabbing the last plate reluctantly and following behind the other girls to the outside of the atelier.
You saw as the new girl, the one with curly hair, just spinned on her heels to go back inside. You swear you heard Qifrey sigh at her behavior.
Her eyes meet yours before leaving the kitchen, she had the eyes of someone who hide behind their own walls, this left you intrigued and curious about her, and something inside you wanted to follow her.
"Come on, miss paws!" Coco called for you from outside, you left your distracted mind behind to follow after her voice with a meow, your tails pointing to the sky as you walked in tiny steps.
Outside, there was a long wood table and chairs bathing in the sun, the grass and the small flowers made the scenario look whimsical, Qifrey and his apprentices started setting the table, Coco stayed with you, looking from the side with a look of a kid who wants to play with the others on the playground, but was to shy to insert themselves into the playing.
Qifrey, noticing how she was reluctant, skipped to her side and gave her a encouraging look, using his hand on her back to indulge her to participate and help.
The girl shyly set her plate on the table, choosing to sit close to Tetia, the girl she was having the easiest time with.
You watched from the ground, if you could, you would be smiling right now, watching the way Coco acted around and inserted herself in this new life made you proud of her, the feeling making you all fuzzy and warm inside, like watching your little sister grow out of her shell.
But at the same time, A melancholic ache settled in your chest. You admired and loved her the same was you were jealous right now. Being trapped in this feline body for years, with no explanation or trusted memories to rely on, the only thing you had was her, and still you had the capability to envy her. She was the one person you had left, the only piece of identity you had, the one you loved so dearly from this smaller form. Yet, you envied her and the way she was free, even after everything that happened. You feel disgusted of yourself and your feelings, how could you feel this? after everything she has done for you. You felt so unworthy of her love, maybβ
"Why are you standing there? Come over, I prepared lunch for you, too." The white haired man held you carefully, moving you from where you were standing to a empty chair by his side, right in front of Coco.
You saw the way she smiled at you as Qifrey sets a small plate in front of you on the table, a simple plate filled with fresh fish meat. The smell invading your nostrils, reminding you of your hunger.
Your mind was blank for a moment, you didn't think, you just approached the plate and started eating the food.
'I need to stop thinking like this, it won't leat me anywhere. Instead, i need to focus on what is important right now.
I want to help Coco to the right path, the one were she will be most happy.'
Taking the example from you, Coco and the teacher started eating too. The table was filled with the comforting feeling of home and the smell of good food, everyone eating together (not really) like a family. That was a feeling you missed, to have a big family on the table to feast together and spend quality time with each other.
You could get used to this quickly.
(β =β ^. .^β =β )S
Richeh, as you learned, and Tetia carefully pilled the empty plates (including your smaller one) and cleaned the table to return everything inside. You had long left the table and instead was jumping around the grass after a butterfly that was desperately trying to fly away from you and your claws.
Coco was watching after you and holding a napkin, deep in thoughts before Qifrey approached her.
"Coco, could I talk with you for a moment?" He asked, his question got her a little tense, but she quickly complied and followed him inside the atelier.
"What did you wanted to talk about, Mister Qifrey?" Coco asked as they walked further inside the house. The air starting to become tense
"You can call me master now, after all, I'll be taking responsibility in teaching you magic from now on." He assured her with a smiled, it never left his face as he spoke. "I wanted to talk with you about Miss Paws, if that's okay. I just have some questions."
"Oh, it's okay, what would you like to know, master?" She asked.
I figured I may love to end chapters this way, I live for the suspense π
You could see the sunset behind tall trees, Coco's mom also watching with a shy smile as the sky slowly changed color. Every second that passed was like a needle pricking your skin covered in fur. You could feel your heartbeat beginning to rise as the anxiety of the eminent disaster just waiting to happen.
But only you knew. Everything else was the same as ever. The slow wind getting chiller as the night rised. Coco was moving around lighting candles as the shop was getting darker. You could see the curiosity in her eyes as she moved around, seemed distracted by her own mind. You know she was counting the seconds as much are you were, but her reasons are far less stressful. You were still being carried in the improvised "canguru pouch" mom made. You have memorized her heartbeat at this point, if one day you ever go blind and lose your sense of smell, you could find her with just her heart. Quite poetic, actually. Coco's mom organized the earned money from the costumers, today was one of those busy days. Coco folded and stored different fabrics, each in their respective place she had learned in her desire to help her mother run the shop. It made you sad how easy of a future Coco could have had if things weren't going the way they are. She would have inherited her mother's shop, her mind sharp and trained to keep it open until the day she passed it to her own kids, or decided to follow a different path in life. But it was still a distant future, one only you knew was not going to happen.
(β =β ^. .^β =)S
The sun has long gone, the moon was as bright as ever. The grass was humid Underneath your paws as you waited outside.
You knew what was going to happen, so it would be foolish and dangerous to wait inside, there is no way you can guarantee your survival if you stay inside, even with Coco. With this, when Coco's mother decided to close the shop, you left and stayed outside, and now here you are, waiting right in front of it, there is some foots separating you from the front door, but you were ready to flee if needed.
The only problem, you don't have a plan. You couldn't make one.
How could you convince qifrey to take you with Coco? It couldn't be that hard actually, you just hope she loves you enough to not leave you behind.
'Am I.. really letting this happen? I feel so coward in doing this, I have all it matters to change the future, yet I am just waiting outside like a fool.' you blamed yourself.
'I could change this, i could give Coco a better future if I try. But what about the consequences? What could possibly happen? If only I was sure of the future, even if I know what's waiting.'
The truth is, you know the future. Long ago, you had readen the manga, but that was in a distant past. Your memories are foggy and incomplete, you don't even know how you got this feline body.
But there is one thing you are sure of, and it is of this very specific day. The day everything changes on the life of your beloved owner.
But you aren't sure of anything besides that, you would have to learn with her how things work in the life of the witches.
Tump! You heard the smack of boots against wood.
Qifrey was here. It was time.
Your heartbeat spiked, you saw the moment he fleed and a dense energy took the house, a bright glow coming from Coco's room and the sound of glass cracking was heard as the crystal begun to spread.
You saw it, Your mom leaving the front door scared, her breath uneven and her face scared.
Your ears started to ring, muffling all the sound around you. You shrinked and puffed your tail, your ears flat against your head and your eyes blown, dark pupils shrinking to adjust to the light and fear. You arched your back and backed away a feels steps as she stopped in front of you before the crystals got her feets.
It grew around her body, her eyes searched for you one last time, her face forever freezed in the last emotion she felt, fear.
For her life, for yours, for her daughter's.
In her mind, the last thing she saw was your scared little body, watching her with guilt.
And then, silence, or at least you think there was silence. You couldn't know, your ears ringing and your heartbeat the only thing you could hear.
And you stayed there for God knows how long, letting the situation sink deep in your mind, and the guilt rotting in your bones.
'It is your fault.' the thought hammered in your brain as you sat in front of her crystalized body. A numbness spreading in your body slowly, the world around being shut down to begin a panic attack.
Do cats have panic attacks? You hoped not.
But it was getting hard to breathe, your fur covered body was getting heavy and dense.
You lowered your head, the grass starting to switch colors and distorting into unknown shapes. Where you going insane after loosing your mother?
Before you could feel the sharp edges in your form, everything stopped suddenly. You turned your head fast to look behind you.
Qifrey landed in front of the crystal statue, but he was quick enough to see the unnatural way your eyes glowed the second you turned your head to look at him. The glow was gone as fast as you turned your head, but he saw it.
He choose to stay silent about it, watching you carefully before speaking:
"Let's go, it's not safe to stay here any longer." And he turned around to walk away, a sleeping Coco in his arms.
You didn't wait to follow after him.
You both walked for a while, the wind and leaves shaking where the only thing you could hear. Qifrey had his steps silenced in some way, not a single sound leaving his boots, but you didn't complain, not like you could anyway.
You arrived at a little camp, definitely his, there was blankets on the dirt and a little fireplace with a singular spark, shilly illuminating his stuff. He carefully left the sleeping Coco close to a tree and you sat beside her. Watching as he quietly put his things away, you couldn't help but to think back to the house you just left behind.
Now things are changing, and you are no longer sure of the future.
You would have to get used to headaches in order to recover some memory about the story.
Your thoughts were cut short as Qifrey took Coco again and didn't wait for you before walking east, you following right behind him in the dark.
'Can he even see? It's so dark around here.. even for me.' you didn't let your mind wonder further, choosing to walk beside him.
You both walked and walked and walked, maybe for some good 40 minutes before he stopped close to a cliff. More ahead was a chariot. One very similar to the one he fixed the same day.
He didn't hesitate, getting close to the chariot and talking with the owner before entering. He held the door for you, and you quickly followed after him, jumping on inside as the door closed and it started to move, leaving the ground.
You looked around on the small floor, close to Qifrey's feet's, but he scooped you in his lap after setting Coco on his side. His eyes soft and tired as he ran his fingers through your black fur.
"We are going to arrive in my Atelier by the morning, you should rest too." His soft voice coaxed you. Even with his kindness, your ears were still flat in your head. The guilt never left you.
But soon, the tiredness finally catched up with you, your eyes heavy and your slow purr was the only thing awake in you as you relaxed in his lap. Qifrey let a small sigh as his eyes turned sharp and his hand stopped in your head.
(β =β ^. .^β =)S
You woke up with the feeling of small arms holding you safely in a careful embrace.
As you opened your eyes, you noticed you were outside, Coco was carrying you, a blanket covering her body, you could hear her sniffing, trying to hold back her tears, the weight of everything getting to her. You fully wished you could hug her, instead you purred and rested your head in hed chest. She hugged you tighter, as if trying to keep you forever.
"Coco?" Qifrey asked a little ahead, turning back on his heels and approaching her as he noticed her tears.
"What's the problem?" He asked carefully.
"Mama.. how could I leave her? I promised I wouldn't do that. Iβ"
"Coco.. you shouldn't blame yourself. You didn't know what could happen." Qifrey turned to the atelier, grabbing a kind of plate hanging from the wall. "Here, you should wash your face."
He opened the plates and water filled the space left, forming a ball for water.
That... Wasn't the first time you saw this magic, but it was very interesting to watch.
"This is were you are going to live from now on." Qifrey finished.
Coco lowered you on the ground, rushing to hold the "ball of water" with her hands. Analyzing it carefully. Her sadness giving place to curiosity. "Um.. this is..?"
"It's water!"
"Humm.. but it is floating on a ball.."
"Ah, almost forgot!" Qifrey deliberately ignored her statement, instead opening the door and rushing inside. "Let me get you some fresh new clothes." He vanished, leaving you and Coco by the door.
"Ha? Wait! How do I use this thing? Can I grab a bucket or something?" Coco panicked, still holding the magic water device.
You boldly entered, taking a feel steps ahead of Coco, giving the atelier a good look. To the side, you could see pink hair and curious eyes watching Coco.
".. Sr. Qifreβ"
"Don't worry! This magic is easy to handle." The new girl eased, assuming a cute posture as Coco finally noticed her. The pink girl looked at you, her smile growing bigger.
"YOU HAVE A CAT? Wooow, he's so cute! Can I pet him?" She lost her posture, rushing to get closer to you as you watched her curiously.
"Ah... This is Miss paws.. she is actually a girl cat.." Coco corrected, getting shy from the approach.
"Hello there, Coco and miss paws! Here, let me help you with that, this is called a Water Droplet Floater." The girl took the device in her hands. "You open the lower plate and the water will flow!" As she explained, she poured some water for Coco, before lowering it towards you. You took the opportunity and tried yourself, sticking your tongue close to the blorb and the water started to flow, allowing you to drink from it.
"This is really cool, thank you!" Coco thanked her.
"Thank you for the thanks! By the way, I'm Tetia!"
"Ha? Oh, nice too meet you Tetia, I'm Coco."
As they talked, you finished drinking, now paying attention to the new blue haired girl that arrived, her light blue hair and expression sounded familiar to you, but you couldn't get the hold of who or why.
"If Tetia starts to get loud, just ignore her and she will shut up eventually." The new addition to the group adviced. In her hands laid a kind of plate holding something you couldn't see doing to your height. The girl looked at you with the same expression she had the whole interaction, but you could see the glow in her eyes as she looked at you. Maybe a discreet fan of cats, huh?
'I don't remember how many girl Qifrey had as apprentices, but I'm sure there are more than two at least.. where is the other ones?' you stopped to pay attention to the girls, instead, you decided to take advantage of your small body and little need of manners to start exploring the atelier, walking around the stone floor and leaving the front door.
Coco and the blue haired girl watched as you left around a corner, Coco was close to calling out for you, but Qifreys arrival distracted her from your explorer self.
As you walked carefully, you took note of the places you could nap or climb, if you were going to stay here for now, you should make yourself home at least. The atelier was a cute place, there was rugs and plants everywhere, stairs that would go up and down, it looked easy to get lost in here, but every corridor had different decorations and doors, making each one unique.
You saw bathrooms, a kitchen, closed doors you couldn't open for obvious reasons and a lot of interesting things to be curious about, things only witches know how it works.
'Could a cat be a witch?' you suddenly asked yourself. Maybe you could cast spells with the tip of your claws or tail.
'Maybe it won't be that bad.. Coco will get used to this place quickly, I'm sure of it.' you thought, and getting close to an open window, you climbed all the way to the windowsill. A cold breeze greeted you with the warm sun, outside there was a vast camp of grass and some trees, flowers popped here and there around the grass and very far ahead you could see a tiny dirt path leading somewhere.
'Yeah, i won't be bad..' you concluded, sitting and appreciating the view, you also took this opportunity to think about what is going to happen next. 'I should have stayed close to Coco, I actually have no idea of what is going to happen after today. And thinking about that, what am I going to do now? Could I help in some way? Should I just stay low and let things move for themselves? No... I don't want to laze around, I want to do something to help, but what?' you wondered, the question laying heavy on your mind. You want to help somehow, but in what exactly could a cat be useful? That got you to think.
'This.. this isn't actually my real body, I need to remember that.. Maybe Qifrey can help me get my human form again? I know turning into a cat has something to do with that brimhat witch.. probably..' the holes in your memories were sure going to be a hassle..
'Gosh, if only I could get my memories in place..' You lamented with a mournful meow. Your tail flicking from one side to another to show your stress.
You were unaware of your surroundings, too deep in your own little head to notice the white haired men approaching you.
"Here you are, Coco was worried for you, little one." he offered to you, making you jump from surprised and taking a little laugh from him.
You meowed in protest. 'Don't go scarring cats like that! What if you make me lose one of my lives?'
"I'm sorry, did I scare you?" He joked. "Let me make up for you getting you some food, what do you think?"
His offer got a meow of approval from you, your mood easily improving. 'Qifrey sure is a good person! You are climbing in my list of cool people very fast!'
He started walking, having you to accompany him in the way of the kitchen
You indead where hungry, you didn't bother to eat the other day, too busy having your last moments with mom. The thought made you sad for a minute, i would always do, you still blamed yourself for not doing anything to help, but you decided to not drown in it.
As you follows him, you failed to notice the 180 turn in his humor, his expression suddenly getting serious. You also failed to remember you actually knew where the kitchen was, and the place he was leading you was very far from it.
You both stopped in front of a door, was that the kitchen? Didn't look like it. The tension grew by the second as Qifrey turned to look at you, you stared back at him, a bad feeling starting to grow in your stomach.
He was not getting you food, that's for sure.
And it was clear he wasn't when he grabbed you by the nape before you could flee, a scared and desperate meow left you before you could understand what was happening.
He quickly opened the door and closed it after entering holding you, a soft click following after. The image of the door slowly faded, leaving only the wall behind it.
I had to rewrite the ending of this chapter twice... Anyways. I wish to thank every person reading this for the support in the last chapter! I'll be continuing this story, so don't worry.
Do you remember when was the last time you had hands? For sure not, it's been years since the last time you saw anything other then fluffy paws to groom and sharp claws. You still remember tho, that one cursed spiral eye, the one who started your new journey.
You do remember the little kid with green hair, jumping in glowing tiles and following a tiny shimmering butterfly inside a dark alley. Everything after that was blurry.
"Miss paws, where are you!" The childish and playful voice woke you from your own little head, soon the same green hair from your memories arrived with a smile, quick in her steps to scoop the black cat in her arms. "There is a witch here! A true witch! With true magic! You NEED to see him!"
She talked while the you got comfortable in her embrace.
'Oh dear, is it who I think it is?' you thought for yourself.
Eventually Coco left the tiny atelier, arriving where the witch had hidden.
"Look, he is inside there. He's fixing the costumer's chariot that one of the boys broke.. but isn't it so cool? There is an actual witch here!" The girl was so happy that she squished the poor cat in her arms, hugging her harder while giggling to herself.
"meoow!" You protested for your poor bones being crushed by Coco, she quickly released you on the ground. "I'm sorry, Miss paws, I got carried away, hehe!" She apologized while petting her.
'Is is finally time? Oh my poor girl, you have no idea what is coming for you.. if only I could protect you..' The feline lamented, you were scared for this day, scared to change how things would come, what if you change things for the worst?! What if the brimmed hats get their hands on Coco because you were close? You were scared.
"Oh, Coco, it's you." The door opened just to reveal clean white hair and blue intoxicating eyes behind a calm and composed face. "And who is this?"
"This is Miss paws! My cat! I brought her to see a true witch for the first time, too!" Coco said with proud while holding your front paws, making you stand in only your back ones. You watched carefully the man with careful and gloomy eyes, before meowing at him and lashing your tail back and forth, your own way of greeting Coco's future caretaker.
'He sure is as beautiful as the arts showed.. do witch's have special face products? There isn't a single spot in his face.' You analyzed him with care, not holding yourself and your hobby for beauty while judging him.
Maybe you liked self care in your past life? Who knows..
"It's nice to meet you, Miss paws." He greeted holding one of your paws and pretending to shake it. Coco smiled happily. "I'm qifrey, a true witch that is here to help fix some things." He played.
He straightened himself, changing his attention to the girl instead. "Coco, could I ask you something?"
Besides the task given to Coco, you were granted the privilege to go as you pleased inside the hut with qifrey, and so you did. While Coco was outside sitting in front of the door, you were inside. After all, what problems could a cat do? It's not like you can talk and reveal the truth about magic anyways. So you watched carefully while qifrey sorted his materials to start working on the drawing.
You watched with attention, from the moment he picked up his pen and started working on the circle first.
You just failed to notice the way qifrey stopped momentarily to watch you with careful eyes.
He felt something strange coming from you, you looked too sentient for a normal cat, he knew something was wrong the moment his eyes landed on you a while back, he could feel the weird energy around you, like you didn't fit who you were.
Deep in his mind, he wondered if you were really just a cat, he remembered how Coco talked about the first witch she saw long ago. Maybe there is something he doesn't know? Or just didn't understand yet.
Some time passed, you were able to hear the exact moment Coco saw the truth behind magic, you had heard her careful footsteps with your cat ears, shifting in your position and drawing qifteys attention to yourself, preventing Coco from getting caught, even if you knew she was not going to.
Qifrey worked on the last line before releasing a sigh.
"Finally, it's done, good as new to fly again." He talked carefully, like he was talking to you, which dragged your attention to him.
You meowed to him, watching him back.
He kept his eyes on you, his face more serious for a moment, he took his time to analyze you and your reactions. You, in return, just looked back at him with big green eyes, with a stare as deep as his.
He swore he could see hope in your eyes as you watched him back.
"Are you truly... A cat?" He whispered more to himself, but loud enough that you could hear clearly, you just blinked in return.
He sighed again, breaking the eye contact and starting to pack his things.
'Did he noticed?' you questioned yourself while still watching him take away his pen and ink. Soon after qifrey opened the hut door, being faced by Coco, who stared at the door with a face of someone deep in thoughts. You left before they finished talking, deciding to pass the most time you could with Coco's mom before she... Well.
You arrived quickly at her side, rubbing against her legs to draw her attention to you.
"Oh, hello there, paws." She recognized you, picking you up on her arms and brushing that spot in the back of your ears that makes you melt every time.
'Not that I'm a true cat, but after years, how could one not enjoy this kind of attention?' you reasoned with your human morals that way, enjoying the pets.
Coco and qiftey soon arrived, Coco skipping to her mother's side, holding qifrey's belongings while he tested the chariot.
"Are you alright? I thought you wanted to see the winged chariot." The woman asked, stoping to pet you for a moment. "It's so rare for you not to get all excited when it comes to magic."
Coco looked away with a sad and confused face. Only changing it when qifrey arrived asking if she was alright, she answered shoving his things on him and hiding behind her mother.
You sighed internally, watching the hole scene unfold. 'I wish I could help in some way..' you have thought about trying to save the woman, but despite how much is hurts, you are still scared to do something that would change Coco's destiny for the worst in the future. So the only thing you did was watch her mother with found and sad eyes, purring in her hold and enjoying her presence while you could. You have always felt like she was your own mother, after she and Coco adopted you.
"Goodbye, may our paths cross again." Qifrey said as he left, his silluet fading in the distance slowly, making you leave your own mind to reality again. You felt the woman holding you leave a sigh, relieved. But you didn't paid attention to her. Focusing on the witch that would soon return. Only after he was only a dot in the distance and when Coco's mom turned to leave your eyes left his back.
She dropped you on the ground again, but you followed after her closely, meowing to draw her attention again.
"And what about you? What got you so clingy today, kitty?" She questioned the black cat following her steps, entering her shop again with an idea.
You watched as she got a piece of fabric and started folding it weirdly, passing it around her body like a second shirt. After finishing, she scooped you up again and started tucking you inside the fabric like in a kangaroo pouch, except it holds you right on her chest, where you could hear her heart beating slowly.
'She is holding me like a baby, maybe she used to do this with Coco?' you started the machine inside you again, purring loudly against her chest happily, enjoying every last second you would have with her by your side.
After finishing, she returns to her duty on the store, attending to costumers while you slept the hole evening being hold by her, in a way that made you feel like you belonged there more than anything.
This would be your last memory with her, and you would cherish it forever, until the day she is set free from the crystal comes.
Until the day you finally regain your memories.
Until the day you recognize who you truly are.
English not my first language, I'm also not sure about the translation of some terms so correct me if I get something wrong. Until next time!
For those waiting for a next chapter, it will be released in around 2-3 days! So fear not, I appreciate all the love and support and will be continuing the story!

Unbeliever β’ jujutsu kaisen
October 31st, 2018, Shibuya.
Within one of the deepest barriers of the attack, Satoru Gojo found himself at a crossroads. Standing before him, two Special Grade Curses and a Curse User waited for the infamous strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer's response after successfully ambushing him.
Satoru Gojo did not have many options, and he was well aware of that. After all, his destructive power posed an extreme danger to the hundreds of civilians trapped on the same floor as him inside the barrier. The situation was far from favorable, but it was not impossible for the strongest sorcerer of the modern era. This was merely another test of his abilities.
Yet, amidst that sea of innocent people, a pair of golden eyes shone with an unfamiliar and bewildering intensity.
A light that went unnoticed by everyone.
In the middle of the crowd, for no reason and without any explanation, a flame was lit. A new and unexpected potential awakened beneath the explosive tension of the battle about to unfold. The event escaped the notice of his enemies alone, but the sorcerer, already on high alert, caught the faint disturbance in the surrounding Cursed Energy not too far from where he stood.
Letting out a quiet, dry chuckle, Satoru allowed himself a brief distraction, silently observing the unusual fluctuation that had just appeared.
It was weak, yet persistent, like the awakening of a clan child discovering their place in the world of jujutsu at the age of five.
'Impressive... What convenient timing for an awakening like this. Please don't die before this is over.'
It was Gojo's last thought before turning his full attention back to the enemies before him.
An unconscious clarity illuminated your senses, granting you an unfiltered awareness of your surroundings and the ability to focus once again. It felt as though you had stepped out of a sealed, silent chamber, one that had deprived you of every single sense for years.
A violent sensory overload made you flinch with a muffled groan. An unbearable pain pounded against your skull several times, as though your senses were being forcefully adjusted, before it suddenly vanished, leaving behind only the memory of its existence and your lingering hesitation.
Once your senses stopped suffocating your thoughts, your mind began clawing through the immense abyss between your memories, desperately trying to fill the void with some logical explanation for how the hell you had ended up here.
Your hometown didn't even have a subway station, so how did you get here?
At what point had your mind simply... shut off and carried you all the way to this moment?
Where the hell are you?
How far away from home are you?
Why do the murmurs of the people around you sound nothing like your own language?
That overwhelming flood of questions was abruptly silenced by a sudden commotion somewhere nearby.
As you glanced back, you noticed something new.
The platform gates that had kept people away from the tracks slid open, throwing several of them onto the rails in the process. Some of those who had fallen quickly stood back up, confused.
Then every trace of logic disappeared.
Without warning, one of them burst into grotesque, raging flames, soon followed by others around them as they too began burning in blazing fire.
Their screams ripped every coherent thought from your mind, freezing your body like a deer caught in the middle of the road, unable to flee from the death waiting before it.
A wave of pure panic spread through everyone who witnessed the inexplicable phenomenon, giving rise to a chorus of terrified screams and desperate cries in the face of something no one could understand.
The crowd's instinct to flee shoved you even deeper into the mass of people, forcing you to press yourself against complete strangers in a desperate attempt to get as far away from the horrifying scene as possible.
Your bewildered mind struggled to comprehend what was happening. An overwhelming torrent of information swept through your brain, nearly driving you unconscious beneath the crushing mental overload.
But just before your mind could finally shut down, a streak of white flashed across your vision.
And then you saw them.
Brilliant blue eyes, vivid and alive, shining with an intensity so deep it defied explanation.
At that moment, your thoughts fell silent.
A profound stillness settled over your mind as a single realization fit every scattered piece together like the final piece of a puzzle.
That was Satoru Gojo.
This is the Shibuya Incident.
And you are, quite possibly, one of its victims.
Sukuna felt it.
Something strange had happened. Something that had disturbed his awareness.
It wasn't something that could be explained. A new, minuscule sensation, like a feather brushing against the ground. Something so light and insignificant that it should have been beneath his notice.
And yet, it managed to pique the curiosity of the bored Curse residing within his host.
"How interesting."
Within himself, Itadori sensed the subtle shift in Sukuna's mood, and an unsettling feeling made him swallow hard as he continued making his way through the upper level of the subway station.
Deep within the station, you ran.
You ran with every ounce of strength you had through unfamiliar hallways lined with signs written entirely in Japaneseβnone of which you could understand.
Some time ago, you had managed to escape the area where you first woke up, shortly after Gojo killed Hanami. It was an indescribable relief not to have been caught in the attacks from the Curses and Choso, an achievement that had undoubtedly exhausted every bit of luck you would ever have for the rest of your life.
Ever since then, you had done nothing but run.
And soon enough, the entire subway would become the stage for every kind of battle and conflict you desperately wanted to avoid.
Navigating these corridors was nothing more than a gamble. Every turn you took was guided by instinct, yet somehow you still weren't getting anywhere.
Your lungs burned as though they had caught fire. It was honestly impressive that you were still standing after dedicating so many years of your life to being completely sedentary.
Even so, you couldn't stop.
Soon, Satoru Gojo would be sealed.
And everything would go to hell.
'Fuck... Out of everything that could've happened. This has to be less likely than that stupid theory about a black hole suddenly appearing right in front of you!'
You kept running.
Running.
Running.
Eventually, exhaustion began to catch up with you.
Adrenaline still burned through your veins, making your fingertips tingle while your heart threatened to leap out of your throat.
Finally, your stamina gave out.
You stopped for a moment, one hand braced against your knee while the other pressed against your chest, desperately trying to calm your heartbeat and catch your breath.
For a brief moment, you looked around.
The fluorescent LED lights.
The strange sounds echoing through the station.
The signs that seemed to say everything and nothing all at once.
And somewhere in the back of your mind, a new concern surfaced.
Would you even be able to communicate with anyone?
The Japanese signs were enough to tell you the obvious: everyone here probably spoke Japanese too.
And if you couldn't even understand the signs...
Would you be able to understand someone well enough to ask for help?
A strange noise made you whip your head around in alarm.
Only for your gaze to land on an enormous mirror a short distance behind you.
It stretched from floor to ceiling, reflecting your entire figure.
For the first time since arriving in this world, you were finally able to look at yourself.
What stared back at you wasn't quite what you were used to.
The face resembled your own...
But it wasn't yours.
You noticed the differences almost immediately. You had never been particularly good with faces, but yours was the one you had spent your entire life looking at.
Enough to notice the changes.
Your nose was smaller and more defined, fitting the strange two-dimensional aesthetic this world seemed to possess.
Your skin had become noticeably tanner, enough to make you stand out among the predominantly East Asian crowd. You weren't Black, but you certainly no longer fit the definition of "white," either.
Your hair had changed as well.
It was longer now, with a subtle gradient that faded from black into a deep navy blue toward the ends, along with a gentle wave running through its length.
But without a doubt, the most striking feature...
...were your eyes.
Golden.
Bright like gemstones.
A shade of yellow that reminded you of a sunflower bathed in sunlight.
They looked almost angelic, with deep white pupils that defied every ounce of logic.
And somehow...
You could still see perfectly.
Your new appearance left you standing there in a trance, quietly taking in all the unfamiliar features that had somehow become your own.
"Careful not to stare for too long. They say your reflection gets jealous and drags you into the mirror."
The voice startled you, snapping you out of your daze and dragging you back to reality.
Kenjaku stood behind you, watching with a gentle smile.
But what frightened you the most wasn't the fact that he had appeared.
It was his voice.
He was speaking fluent Japanese.
And you couldn't understand a single word.
"You seem to be a foreigner. Can you understand what I'm saying?" he asked gently, careful not to frighten you any further.
The only response he received was your wide-eyed stare as the gears inside your head desperately searched for a solution to your current predicament.
Leaving you with an almost comically slack-jawed expression.
"I'll take that as a no... but that won't be a problem."
Geto's body extended a hand toward you, the gesture warm and inviting.
Having no common language to rely on, Kenjaku held out his right hand. Then, using his left, he pointed to his open palm before pointing at your own hand.
After that, he clasped both of his hands together in demonstration, gave them a light squeeze, and once again extended his right hand toward you.
'He wants... to hold my hand? Is he asking for a handshake? Or is he trying to lead me somewhere?'
You wondered after watching the little pantomime.
Finally closing your mouth, you adopted a wary posture, even if it probably wasn't the smartest way to handle your current situation.
The man waited patiently while you thought it over, his gentle smile never wavering as he quietly watched your reaction, almost as if he could see the tiny gears turning inside your head.
'This is complicated... What is he trying to do? I'm like a puppy standing in the middle of a field surrounded by lions... and one of them just reached out a hand to me.'
'A hand with sharp claws that could tear me apart at any moment.'
You carefully considered your only option as though it were an endless list of choices.
'There's no world where I can run from or fight this guy. The only thing I can do is obey... and hope fate is in a good mood today.'
Letting out one last heavy sighβone you feared might be your lastβyou slowly placed your trembling, hesitant hand into the cold one being offered to you.
The difference in temperature made you shiver before his fingers gently closed around your palm.
Without another word, he gave your hand a soft tug and began walking, silently leading you with him.
From that moment on, your attention remained fixed on every movement the man made as he guided you toward an unknown destination.
Deep down, all you could do was pray... and wonder what thoughts hid behind that stitched, cursed skull.
And what fate still had in store for you after everything that had happened so far.
