She led an online harassment campaign against other trans people, harassed a sexual assault survivor (and bragged about it), has displayed frankly horrific biphobia on multiple occasions and actively harassed people who called her out on it, outright defended the 9/11 attacks happening, and several other things. I also think, apart from that, she shouldn't have been hired in the first place because of her disdain for comics as a medium, her admitted refusal to read the source material prior to writing anything, and her ongoing wildly unprofessional social media behavior.

She's a known antagonist on social media who has gotten into multiple controversies since the book's announcement because she will not shut up to save her life, and she makes these comments on accounts bearing her full government name alongside promotions for material she was publishing at DC. She was a walking PR nightmare for DC as a company regardless of my personal feelings on Red Hood as an individual book.

An outcome like this was an inevitability (if it hadn't been over her 'cops aren't people' suicide apologia and Charlie Kirk posts yesterday, it would have been something else) and DC never should have opened her up to the media spotlight and fandom harassment she has garnered from being hired by hiring her to write anything, let alone a well-known and well-liked character. Truly a "play stupid games win stupid prizes" PR situation all the way around for both Gretchen and the company.
