“Well,” Connor begins, ignoring the sarcasm as he turns to the man with his hands clasped behind his back, “a quick scan of him tells me all I need to know. His criminal record holds theft, aggravated assault and resisting arrest. This man already has a terrible background, it’s only natural for me to suspect him of this crime.” He relays the information, hoping it satisfies him. It’s weird how the man reminds him somewhat of Steve. He brushes the thought off though and gives a nod. Bucky knows next to nothing about this guy besides the fact that he was supposedly on their side. However the moment he mentioned ‘scanning’ their suspect, he couldn’t help but furrow his brows in confusion.

“Scan?” He questioned. Tony had been the one to suggest him to join along. He hadn’t really thought anything of it until now. “What do you mean, a quick scan?”

Wanda had been EXTREMELY reluctant to even approach Barnes in seek of help, knowing that if they were found, the consequences would be vastly more dangerous for him than they would be for her - plus, she didn’t think Steve would appreciate her getting his best friend caught. But she was DESPERATE. “Thank you.” She murmured meekly, following him quickly through the door with her head ducked down. She hesitated in her answer, before shaking her head. “It’s nothing serious.” She mumbled, only partially lying; no need to burden him further. “I just need a place to lay low for the night.”

There was a slight ROLL of his eyes as he moved across the apartment, grabbing his bag with supplies. “You’re not a very good liar.” He said, perking a brow. “Where are you injured?” He asked, hearing footsteps from beyond the window. He paused and walked towards it, peeking out. The laughter of school children eased his worry for the moment. With a soft sigh, he moved towards her. “Do you want tell me what’s going on?”

“Well of course you won’t think that.” He said, perking a brow with a small smirk. Sighing, he leaned over a bit, nearly resting his head on Steve’s shoulder. “It’s hard not to feel like this, you know? With everything that’s happened recently.”
