The bullshit about seeing younger men as sons and older men as brothers. You get a bunch of woman who only know how to relate with men platonically and the moment she finds a brother or son attractive she feels like shes committing incest. I have enough brothers and sons to start a football team or an army squadron. What I don't have is real relationships with men based on the normal instincts of the birds and the bees. I could have had a pool of potential mates but now all I have is enough platonic relationships with men to be intimate and affectionate with but never attracted to. Now I am not trying to whore myself out. I am merely pointing out the sick incestual reality that exist in the religious niche. Haircut #3 after my #perm last spring.. Pretty much chopped off all the #curls 💇🏻 Trying to capture this moment after the hairdresser perfected the curls because I know it will never look like this again. And on a totally unrelated but relevant point.. I know it's not about the lbs lost but since the thyroid surgery..I was on a liquid diet for about a week cause I couldn't swallow...then realized that I was #glutenintolerant and how bad gluten is for the thyroid...I started packing my own gluten free lunch ... Cut out sodium (which makes up basically the entire Korean cuisine).. Plus I started going to the gym 3~5x a week, and I'm down about 5 kgs... 90% of that is definitely water weight from being bloated from all the salty food from eating out and the bloating from gluten. Who knew #gluten was killing me all these years? Now must look for an alternative to beer. Anyways ... I am satisfied with my 1 month health progress report..and my hair

Banking in Korea: The Hated 인증서 Let me introduce you to my error messages that I had to manually type into my translator to sort out my banking issues. I am sure that there are tons of rants by foreigners already out there about the difficulties of banking in Korea for foreigners but it doesn't hurt for the world to hear from 1 more distressed customer. Especially a foreigner with Apple products as all banking requires Internet Explorer. Most of you are like: WTH is Internet Explorer? This is because all my friends use Apple, right? ;) Anyways...Korea banking requires all security verification programs to go through IE so if you use Safari or Chrome or Mozzilla.. You are basically screwed unless you have a nice Korean friend willing to lend you their PC. And even when you get your hands on a PC the process is super complicated and makes absolutely no sense. I have 3 banks in Korea for very stupid reasons and I cannot access any of them and continue to get these error messages: Customer, we are terribly sorry, but you are pretty much screwed. I've tried going to all 3 banks who all tell me to get a PC or just figure it out. When I tell them I have a Mac, they just give me a blank stare and say they can't help me. I'm like- isn't it your job to get me access to my account? Why can't banking be as simple as BOA where you can register your fingerprint on your iPhone and access it within seconds? So I have to pay my gas bill by today and I cannot access any of my banks because my banking certificate is not on my new iPhone. Whenever I figure this out, I plan to make a YouTube video with dummied down step by step instructions on how to master banking certificates in Korea for all my fellow frustrated foreigners #인증서 Until then I have permission to curse every one of my banking apps. End of rant. Still frustrated as hell. 😱

My 1st annual performance review summarized in a tiny pink slip. A pink slip means something different in Korea. The %⬆ means a raise ! So thankful. All that work staring at spreadsheets was worth it. Granted the starting salary was closer to what I got in my 1st job out of college and no where near what I got before coming to Korea. But the aftermath of this % ⬆️is way more than what I got when I was a 'pastor'. The important thing is that it pays the bills. Feels like the odds are turning around.

1/24/16 1 month post #thyroidectomy #POD0: 😨 #POD18: 😢 #POD30: 😐 #POD31: 😁 With the right thyroid missing, my left thyroid 'LT' has had quite the journey trying to play catchup after the shock of losing its partner of 35years. Somedays I think the hormone production is a bit subpar and I feel like s#~@ and had to stay home, but most days are bearable. Fighting Mr. LT! My skin is still in shock though the incision is healing bit by bit. It is still tender to touch but bearable. #忍 #견디다 ?? #endure has been a key word this month in my vocabulary.
