can I just- this is the only closure Steve gets for the war. That the weapon that fueled Schmidt’s maniacal search for power beyond what the Reich could give him, the weapon that created the backbone of Hydra’s weaponry, the weapon that contributed to Bucky’s fall, to the bombs on the plane, to Steve’s decision to down the plane {ten days} and then everything he lost because of that- this is the only closure Steve gets for losing everything.

Look at him.  Steve Rogers is not the kind of guy who experiences hatred, but he fucking hates that thing.

And—there’s another post that says this, but it bears repeating—is it any damned wonder he’s so grumpy at the start of The Avengers? Not only has he been out of the ice a matter of days, but he’s just been called back into battle because of the goddamned tesseract.

I am going to just start sending this post to people when I see them saying nasty things about Steve while watching this film. It always makes me so mad!

I love Tumblr’s brand of self-esteem. I can’t get behind “excellence” or whatever but Tumblr is just a bunch of people sitting around in our respective burning dumpsters being like “good work everybody, we’re the best trash fires we can possibly be” and that just rings true to me.
