Theory of causation states that a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a volcano to erupt. I used to always think that was nonsense. Until recently. I used to feel like a rock. Three, four years ago, I felt like a rock. A small, insignificant rock. Cast out into the ocean and buried deep underwater. I believed I wouldn’t amount to anything great. I would always appear blurred by water, crushed by waves, miles away from sunlight. Because I was just me. And I wasn’t anything special. I never imagined myself feeling good or content with who I am. I never thought that was possible for a rock. But volcanoes are rocks. Volcanoes erupt when magma from deep within pushes itself to the surface. For years I kept that magma deeply buried. And today, Today I feel like a volcano erupting. And you, You’re the butterfly that flapped its wings, so unaware of the volcano you would set off.
