Does anyone else think about terukaneaoi and the fact that, at first glance, Akane and Aoi both represent both sides of Teru's worldview (the dichotomy of the supernatural itself vs. the "pure" human that everyone loves), but upon further inspection, they represent the nuance that is lost in Teru's worldview (Teru being able to trust the one who blurs the lines of supernatural and human, begging the question of "is there even a way to place the two categories in neat boxes of 'good' and 'evil'" if vs. the human that believes strongly that there is something rotten unseen within her and the version of her everyone loves is fake)? Or am I insane

they’ve got some good character parallels too like they’re both crap at cooking (tho at least mitsuba learns a bit quicker than teru) and they’re both incredibly dear to Kou. Just on two opposite sides of the coin that Kou has to choose between (though ig he’s already made that choice)

Modern/future au of terukane that I’ve been thinking about!
i really like the subtle shift in teru and akanes dynamic
One way in particular i like is the change in akane addressing teru
He goes from calling him president:
To "pres":
(I initially thought it was an odd choice to have akane start calling teru that there specifically, but im pretty sure thats the first time he's fully had the upper hand over teru, so he decided to try it out...
and sticks to it lmao. its kinda cute.
They also seem more comfortable with physical contact in the alteration arc.
before the severance, teru doesn't really make physical contact with akane
(lerche take notes!! He is NOT caressing his face he literally uses his beads to hold akane T-T)
during the severance is when teru actually slams akane down with his own hands, cos the situation has changed for the worse
But he sticks with that approach:

Akanes also gotten a bit better at comforting people (right now it's mainly directed at teru and Aoi)
