I think that there is a danger in estranging yourself from your Gods when you take the stance that you have to be too empirical. Always be a healthy amount of sceptical; not every sign is for you, not everything is a sign, but do not forget that the Gods are everywhere. They are in every rainbow, every bird, every musical note, every drop of water and every raincloud, but They are not always there for your purposes. That is acceptable - They have their own agenda and many worshippers, and as you are not always there for your Gods, sometimes They just are.
