It probably wasn’t pesticides. It was more likely a difference in the amount of gluten in the bread.
North American bread has a much higher gluten content, because there is a higher gluten content in North American wheat and other grains. This is because the grains need it to survive the generally colder climates of North America, so they’ve been bred to have a higher gluten content, which helps insulate the grains from the cold.
So it’s not that the higher amount of gluten is illegal in other places, it’s simply just not necessary, and so it’s not there.
And so North American people who have gluten intolerances often see relief when they eat European bread, due to it not containing the extra gluten.
This is an incredibly common phenomenon.
If you are a North American with a gluten intolerance, now doubting the legitimacy of that because of this video or screenshot, I promise they aren’t poisoning you, they’re just trying to make sure that people in North America can have their own wheat, flour, and bread without the logistics and high price of shipping it across the Atlantic Ocean.

In many European countries, bread is made with wheat grown in North America. Mine gets almost its entire supply from Canada, which produces wheat with an exceptionally high gluten content. This is because flour typically needs high levels of gluten to make good bread.
The biggest difference between American and European bread is that ours doesn't have the shit-ton of additives found in American bread.
You know how canaries were historically brought into coal mines, because if the mine was full of carbon monoxide the canary would die first and the miners would be able to escape before they died too?
I just found the greatest thing.
This is a canary resuscitator.
When the miners notice the canary getting sick with carbon monoxide poisoning, they can close that circular hatch so no more gas gets into the canary cage, and open the valve on that oxygen tank to keep the canary breathing. In other words, they made a spacesuit for birds.
By immediately giving the canary access to clean air, the miners can save it from the poison. The bird lives. To be clear, this is not for economic purposes, this was specifically created because the miners felt bad and wanted to save the bird.
Isn’t that just the perfect demonstration of what humans are like? We started sacrificing small creatures to save ourselves, and then felt bad and spent our valuable resources on saving the critters too. Because yeah the canary was the only way to test for CO, but it’s a living creature too, dammit!

The Mississippi and Ohio rivers contain bull sharks to at least as far north as southern Illinois, so shark attacks in IL, MO, and KY are plausible.
What confuses me is how you'd get a shark attack in New Mexico. The Rio Grande isn't big enough for a bull shark, and the only other sharks that can live in fresh water are all in south-east Asia and Australia. (Why is it always Australia?)

Also this brings up a really good point I have found. If you are trying to educate a cis person (particularly if they’re also straight) about what it means to be trans, they will often get baffled because they picture suddenly choosing to adopt another gender and it seems absurd to them.
My aunt was having a really difficult time grasping what it was like to be trans, because she could not envision any circumstance in which she would want to “become a man.” I told her to instead imagine that she was the same person she is now, but had been raised as a boy against her will and treated as one throughout her life. Then everything clicked for her and she has turned out to be a great ally ever since!
