After a ton of troubleshooting [including an ac insulation kit to fully seal off the window] it's time to accept that my portable AC unit's broken. The compressor is the likely issue. There's no HVAC service in my area that repairs these units, and they're recommending I buy a new one.

This is the unit I need to purchase for $399.99. I know this is a HUGE ask but I really really need help to raise the funds to replace it. The temperature in my bedroom has been unbearable, upwards of 90℉ [32℃] most days. I have multiple fans but during the hottest part of the day, they're just blowing hot air. I have lupus and my dog has a heart murmur; both of us are vulnerable to heat sickness/heat stroke from being in that much heat.

A small shake of his head followed, his thumb brushing once beneath her chin before his hand settled more gently against her jaw. “Don't let her put that in your head.” His voice had softened. “She doesn't know you. She doesn't know us. And whatever she thinks she saw in some stupid bowl of smoke or whatever it was, that doesn't make it true.”

His gaze lingered on hers, searching her face until he was certain she was actually listening to him. “And I don't think there's anything wrong with taking things slowly.” The faintest warmth touched his expression, a little sheepishness creeping into his voice. “I like that we're not rushing anything. I like knowing you. All of you.” His thumb moved absently along her cheek. "That oracle isn't exactly someone I'd trust with my laundry, let alone my future.”

A quiet breath escaped him as the corner of his mouth lifted. “You're not disgusting, Jin. You're not unpure. And you don't have to prove anything to anyone just because some bitter old woman decided to say something cruel. Especially not to me.”

“Hey.” his fingers rest beneath her chin, guiding her to look at him. “You’re beautiful, Jin. That oracle has been giving people terrible fortunes for years. Don’t take it to heart.”

Katara: What, do you want a list?

A muscle jumped in Zuko's jaw, his eyes narrowing toward the danger beyond them. “I was thinking more along the lines of an opening,” he muttered, though Mizu's point wasn't exactly wrong. Waiting was only useful if you knew what you were waiting for.

He exhaled slowly, shifting his weight without taking his eyes from their surroundings. His gaze flickered briefly toward her, lingering for just a fraction too long before returning to the darkness ahead. The thought of leaving her to face whatever was waiting out there made him uncomfortable, and he'd been trying not to think too much about why.

“We'll wait until they get careless. Then we move.”
