The water bent around her hands was cool , soothing , but the healing wasn’t working fast enough for her liking . “ I don’t - . . . I don’t need Zuko . “ Katara grimaced through grit teeth . “ I’ve got it .”

There's urgency towards toph's movement as she had approached the waterbender , holding her body upright to support katara while the older girl healed herself , there's no denying that the injury she sustained was severe && , Toph could smell the sharp copper of blood in the air , && feel the frantic spike of Katara's heartbeat , the tremors of pain flaring from the wound right through the soles of her feet . Her poor attempt of lying to divert toph's worries didn't work either , it only caused for the earthbender feel tense && more worried. A fierce , protective anger flared on toph's chest her grip around the other tightened like iron as she listened to her speak . Katara would certainly not need zuko on this one , cause Toph will be the one handling this problem whether katara likes it or not. With a frown on her face , the earthbender finally demanded an answer she wished to know

🫀 — who taught them what love is? did it hurt?

For Sumiko, she thought she knew what romantic love was, but she was told otherwise. So, she doesn't know what it actually is. (Her love was romantic love; but to the other person it didn't mean as much.) It hurt a lot. She now blinds herself to it.

For Junsei, familial love unconditionally was truly felt by him for the first time once he was taken in by the previous principal team members of the Komodo-rhino. While he had to build his skills to be better, he didn't have to prove himself to be something he wasn't. They accepted him as he was. HIs realization of that hurt — even though he was well aware of it once his half-brother was born and saw that his treatment from his grandfather was different his whole life. Yes, his mother loved him, but with his grandfather present, he always felt on edge.

Sokka looked genuinely puzzled for a second, as though he couldn't understand why she was the one questioning the conversation. “Strange?” he repeated, pointing at himself. “Katara, I made one perfectly reasonable observation about my completely normal nipples.” He folded his arms and nodded, quite serious about his argument.

“Besides, if nobody talks about these important issues, how are we supposed to know what's normal? What if everyone in the world has weird nipples and I'm the only one carrying the burden of average looking ones? Which would make them the weird ones by contrast. ” The longer he talked, the more amused he became with his own nonsense.

“That’s kind of tragic. Imagine being surrounded by extraordinary nipples your whole life and never knowing it.” Sokka glanced at her, trying and failing to keep a straight face.

“You know, most brothers and sisters argue about chores or responsibilities. We argue about whether my nipples are normal. I think that says something about us. Not sure what it says, but it definitely says something.” He snorted and shook his head. “Anyway, for the record, I'm still winning this debate. The evidence is overwhelmingly in favor of my normal nipples.”

There's no cutting corners, no precautions from her words . It's all straight to the point , hitting full force to the guarded heart of the strong willed Earth bender. Lately , Toph had been avoidant && flippant at questions directed to her ; placing high , thick , impenetrable walls to prevent people from knowing the weight of the world she was carrying on her own , asking for help is a sign of weakness && vulnerability , yet she knew deep inside , that asking for support from her friends doesn't equate with any of this . It's just her stubborness && childhood trauma , kept telling her that she's better off doing it alone. That facing it head on without anyone was always the best option. After all she is strong && the greatest , so she can take it . Right ? Right ? Wrong... Unfortunately , for this one it wasn't the case. Rejection. It tasted like poison on her heart && mouth. It wasn't the first time toph had experienced it. She'd been rejected , multiple times, it didn't bother her -- not at all but coming from her own parents ? it Stings a lot ! It 's a blow that would forever linger && hunt her. To hear him say ' she's not my daughter ' is already brutal for the earthbender, but to feel the anger , the disappointment && the full intention of hurting her through those words with the same thing she thought her father would be proud of , her earthbending . It almost ... ' ALMOST ' made her wish she never learned it at all so she wouldn't feel this pain she was feeling but everything had had happened already && She is a part of it's fault as well .

So when she heard katara's softness. The Love && empathy that came along with it which she never experienced from her so called parents , caused all of her walls to go crashing down in an instant. Her lips started to quiver as she bit at it harshly , an attempt to mask away the emotions that is desperate to go out, but it was too late... Tears started to flow , at first it was few droplets , but eventually even the strongest dam couldn't hold the water that overflows . Oh how pethatic , that the stubborn && greatest earthbender in the world had fallen from those loving words . Toph had wept her heart out in front of katara, turning around to bury her face against her chest to hide her mess , && at that moment, she wasn't the the mighty Toph beifong who invented metal bending, nor the Avatar's Earth bending teacher who fought against the Fire nation . Instead she was just a lost , affection deprived teenager who got disowned by her own father in front of her friends && other people.

With his birth parents growing up, there wasn't enough time to have Seto experience confidence encouraged by them. When there was primary school, there was instances to show off to them or to be encouraged to go for things. Even the willingness to help out his mother with Mokuba takes confidence.

The bulk of the confidence stems from Gozaburo. Seto had to be confident and assured of himself even in the orphanage to prove to Gozaburo that he and Mokuba deserved to be adopted by him. He had to be confident enough in watching / reading about Gozaburo and other chess grandmasters to learn strategies. As now the newly minted Kaiba "heir", Gozaburo would not have his child be scared or weak or insecure. Seto had to be confident that there was some kind of prize at the end of the day. That he will take over KaibaCorp. That he will protect Mokuba from the hands of Gozaburo. That he will have solid vision / his holograms be better than military weaponry.

The confidence in his appearance happened around when he got KaibaCorp. Seto getting handmade suits tailored to his growing frame and since he has stopped growing, everything he has is measured to the centimeter whether it's a three piece suit, a trench coat, or something as simple as a blue tee with the KC logo embroidered. Him beginning to work out with trainers and solo to gain his muscles and abs.

In card dueling of course stemmed from winning but then being a strategist about it. While in the beginning (and still today) Seto has played for the power and greed and the titles of it all, his decks are structured by him for him. Of course winning local and then national championships to then "winning" his first Blue Eyes and then getting the number one rank inflated his ego and became his downfall at the end of the day.
