Like YES she holds the mate bond and what she feels it represents in resentment (and she projects that resentment onto Lucien), but that's only a small piece of the larger puzzle of Elain struggling with her loss of identity. If you look at what Elain is saying in the books, even when she's talking to Feyre about her disinterest in Lucien and having a mate, it's obvious that Elain is mourning not just her autonomy, not just her humanity, but her entire freaking sense of who she is and what she is meant for.
