I have never ever read a romance book showing the MMC, in his POV, coming on multiple female friends tongues, while “friends” with his supposed love interest. Nor have I read any romance book with an FMC, in her POV, eating multiple guy friends cum left and right, before she decides to settle down with her love interest.
It’s perfectly fine in real life if that’s your prerogative and it doesn’t hurt anyone, but this is a romance series 😩 There’s a reason we didn’t get Nesta’s POV for the 9 months before she went to the HOW. It’s fine that she slept around, but we weren’t reading about every sex act with every random partner.
Most woman read romance books to feel the romance. So many men are dog shit in real life, why would we want to read about men being dog shit in romance books? I want to read about men so down bad for their women that they would never even dream of another woman. If I wanted to be disappointed by a man, I’d just walk out my front door and find it.

Why do people dislike Gwyn? The fact that she found her strength in kindness and stood up for herself shows courage and deserves recognition. I hope she gets her POV so she is finally loved. So much hate towards her for no reason! One of the most hated characters and I am sick of it.

That aside: She is lovely. Maybe AFTER Sjm has told the main characters and their pov, she can give Gwyn a pov in a novella.
No one dislikes Gwyn. We dislike people turning all of Gwyn’s moments of strength, courage, and her accomplishments into something about a man. Gwyn became mentally and physically stronger to overcome her trauma and be someone who could protect herself and others in the future, but people twist all those scenes to tie them back to a man to prove a ship. The scenes are about her healing arc and coming into her power, they are not to show the reader she has a crush.

I don’t think we’re actually aware of just how much Azriel has been pining for Elain. In his BC he says he’s been looking at her present every night for a YEAR. That means thinking about her daily, imagining her/them together, searching her out, trying to touch her even for a second, making up trivialities to be able to talk to her, listening to her plans patiently, seeing her in every plant, in every color, in every person, in every sound…. For a year. And the feeling grows the more time you spend with the other person. But they want to convince you they’re not romantic.

Talking about skipping scenes, you probably also skipped that one part in ACOSF where a girl was bullying Elain because she was jealous of her beauty and Nesta made sure to put that girl in her place.

We have so little information about the books and I know it’s for a reason. What if that reason is because of or a hint at Elain’s arc? Her keeping secrets? Her becoming a spy? Sneaking around with Azriel? Is all of this connected?
Humor me for a second. Are we supposed to be observing and picking up on things? Hints? Clues? It’s likely what Elain will be doing in her book. Could the merchandise drops, book sleeves, and book store displays be part of that?
I’m grasping at straws here but what if the reason everything is being kept hidden is because that’s a big theme in Elain’s book? I realize I’m probably just desperate for something and this is likely not the reason. BUT that would be a fun reveal if it was the case.
