The Next ACOTAR Book Is Elain’s, This Shouldn’t Be a Dabate
I really don’t understand why people keep questioning the idea that the next ACOTAR book will be about Elain.
SJM has confirmed multiple times that Elain will get her own book. And beyond that, it would make absolutely no f sense not to write her story, when the previous books literally centered on her sisters.
Elain has been set aside for so long that people now assume she’s irrelevant — when in reality, she was set aside because it wasn’t her time yet. The focus was on Feyre, and then it shifted to Nesta. That’s it.
And just to clarify, this isn’t meant to be about ship wars — I’m talking about the focus of the story and the main character, not ships (as long as the love story is written well, I’m happy).
if it ends up being Elucien, then sure — it could also open the door to Gwynriel. But that still doesn’t change one thing: there is NO WAY the story will center on Azriel and Gwyn while Elain gets pushed aside AGAIN.
At this point, people are just tired of waiting, and they’ve started labeling her as passive — which honestly makes no sense. She has done important things (idk like finding the suriel?? killing the KoH??)
Before we got Nesta’s story, most people only hated her and barely considered her important to the plot. And then in her book she just did something small and irrelevant… like SAVING FEYRE AND THE BABY (and, by extension, Rhys too)??!
The problem is that people don’t seem ready for a protagonist who is both gentle and strong.
We’ve kind of become victims of this idea that to be “badass” you have to be loud, sharp-tongued, sarcastic, constantly dominant.
But here’s the thing: you can be powerful, respected, and strong even if you love flowers, drink tea, and prefer peace most of the time.
That doesn’t make you weak. It just makes you a different kind of strength.
I’ve literally seen people say things like, “who would even want to read a book about gardening?🙄” and I’m like… are you serious?
It’s obviously not going to be about gardening. Gardening will probably be her outlet, just like painting was for Feyre in the original trilogy. But I don’t think it will actually take up much space, since the story will most likely focus on Elain stepping out of her comfort zone. It will be about her story, her powers, her growth — which we’ve barely seen so far. And honestly, it doesn’t take a literature degree to understand that.
If anything, Elain’s book has the potential to be one of the most interesting precisely because we don’t fully know her yet. Her arc isn’t obvious, and that makes it even more compelling.
I mean… we literally have a F seer here. I’m not expecting peace and quiet — I’m expecting something deeply unsettling. How can you even think it’s going to be boring?😩
