Yeah that’s basically how I see it. Riku is “the Chosen One” and Sora is the Chosen One’s Chosen One. It’s not because Sora has some grand bloodline but because he is loved and worthy by virtue of his own heart. In the end the world needs both of them working together as one. Just like in kh1 both their hearts were necessary to close the door.
