It's been a while since i've sprited a castor. Lisver here wants to be a model when she grows up and love fashion.

hehehe thankies! the simple answer is a lot of practice, but I'll share some tips i did for bettering my style :D [context is that behind Jolley is a very old sprite of mine lololol]

i pretty much always have a tavros buddy next to me when i make custom assets or whole sprites because he's really easy to read if that makes sense like.. he's easy to see the scaling of things, like where pieces of the face go and what not..

another thing i like to do is redraw assets, like sollux's arm here! helps with studying the art style and proportions :3c another thing i do is just stare at the sprites for a bit, studying the shapes and line work :3

a big thing i do is look at the hair of canon characters to see what will match mine and study the flow of the lines [i used thicker outlines for Joey's hair because i like how it looks lol]

I thought his design would lend itself nicely to a lumith swap

so i decided to have a go at making some custom Homestuck sprites, and decided to make versions of one of John's sprites from an imp strife for the rest of the beta kids, as well as a base! in the image above all sprites except for the one placed most to the left (John) were made by me. i'm very happy with how they turned out since this is one of my first few attempts at making decent sprite edits that aren't just recolors!!

these are free for you to use in your own fan adventure if you'd like! credit is appreciated but not required, as long as you do not claim to have made them yourself, or claim to have made the base yourself if you're using just that, it's fine by me :D (in fact if you do use it let me know i'd love to see my stuff being used by others!!!)

Here's a species i haven't sprited before, a velcello! It took me a while to sprite one because i was a bit intimidated by their designs but it wasn't to bad to sprite

Cheshires now gain deer horns upon god tiering that's a much lighter brown than their fur, and no longer have their markings change color.

Cheshires now have family names! No restrictions on length, and the first letter of the family name is part of the monogram that is their symbol

Nycteris's second wing gained upon god tiering is now feathered, and in a lighter color of their hair.
