first of all… comeau defending elaine’s trans kid made me actually go Woah. usually he’s characterized as a Complete Bigot along with Drapeau, which I have no qualms with! but it’s nice to see a fic where he is more accepting, along with most of the Metros, who are trying!

shane’s 1-2-1 meeting with petrov made me laugh because WHAT is petrov doing like seriously. he was so happy to be a mess. but it also made me sad because shane’s disordered eating reared its ugly head. him only having one “treat day” and how he only allows himself to have HALF of a snicker’s bar <\3. on a brighter note, it’s super adorbs to me how ilya loves to see shane eat chocolate on facetime like are you kidding me. they’re so boyfriends and they’re not even boyfriends. i wonder if shane’s eating habits will be brought to ilya’s attention and how he will react 💭

shane being kind of pissy this meeting was also just funny to me like let petrov eat his macarons and pie 😭 like i know why shane was like that but pls

the coming out scene gagged me like petrov except it wasn’t because of a macaron going down the wrong pipe. I lowkey suspected that petrov had a tiny crush on shane atp, but not like. A real one. Kind of like a hallway crush where you just think that straight boy is cute and you want to get to know him better. except that “straight” boy just came out to you as gay and you’re also gay, but you’re older than him and have more power so now it’s a weird power imbalance and yeah you need to go back to your room right now to get your shit straight.

i saw an interpretation in the comments with how petrov coming back from his room a lot more put together was him making an effort to look good for shane, now that he is an option, and lowk I don’t see that happening? later on petrov is papped with his ex and i seriously don’t think petrov being with shane is really a viable option nor is the direction the fic is headed towards, but i do see merit to the interpretation
