I choose to believe that Sam decided to "eat healthy" because he realised that Dean's creativity in cooking when he was growing up meant he has absolutely no limit in what he would or could eat and he got embarrassed one too many times when he ate some disgusting combination and liked it so he decided to limit himself to socially acceptable eating... but he still craves hotdog in porridge every now and again and he stares at himself in the mirror about it because he'll never beat the freak allegations
