hockey fans tomorrow 

Flawless trio.

the nhl thought john scott was an embarrassment to their ~dignified~ sport so they did EVERYTHING they could to stop him from playing in the all-star game. they traded him to montreal so he could no longer play in the pacific division. montreal immediately sent him down to the AHL affiliate and its clear hes not getting called back up. they uprooted john scott and his two young daughters AND his 9-months-pregnant (with TWINS) wife 4,000 miles away from his home because… why? because he made a “mockery” of the game? because they know that people like john scott have a place in this league but they’re embarrassed by it?

they tried everything to get him not to play in the game. they told him, “would this make your daughters proud?” they didn’t want him there. 

the ONLY reason john scott got to play in the game was because the fans rioted over it. it was THE FANS who got him there. the nhl did nothing. they tried as hard as they could to disqualify him. 

and this entire weekend they’ve done nothing but spin this around into a “look at this incredible narrative that we started!” as if they were the ones who deserve any of the credit for this!! they spun this as an underdog narrative, an uplifting storyline, but they pretended that they wanted him there, they pretended that they were the ones who had the bright idea. 

and at the end of the weekend, gary bettman had to hand john scott a check of $1 million, to a chorus of people cheering for him as MVP. they didnt even want john scott to be MVP! he wasn’t even a voting option! it was the fans who gave that to him, just like it was the fans that got him there in the first place.
