“What about this, Captain?” Liam asks, nudging the boy kneeling between their feet with the toe of his boot. The boy hisses and swipes at him, slurring out something unintelligible around the makeshift gag Niall had to stuff in his mouth. He misses by a mile and tries again, just as ineffectively. Harry looks down at him, at the way the sun streams over his face and shoulders, at the way the gag stretches his mouth, lips pink and chapped. He’s lithe and pretty, smudged all over with dirt. They had found him tied up below deck, mostly unconscious, next to a barrel full of gold. He’s clearly a prisoner, but there’s something familiar about him, something that niggles at Harry’s brain. Something he can’t quite put his finger on. “Put him in my cabin,” Harry decides, turning back to deal with the rest of the loot. The boys screams out jumbled curse words at Harry’s back, muffled by the gag, and Harry can’t understand any of it.

“Where’s your phone?”

“Front room, why?”

Gemma looks at him and he looks at Gemma, just half a second behind her scheming ways. She licks her lips quickly, cunningly, and then bolts, throwing down the tea towel in her haste.

“Gemma, what are you- no! No no no, don’t do it!”

Harry vaults off the unit, landing quite uncomfortably on his tired feet, and races after her on the slippy kitchen lino. He screams after his sister, throwing himself onto her back to try and pluck his phone from her grasp. He really regrets telling her his passcode now.

“Stop it, don’t you dare!”

“Ooops?” Gemma splutters, wrestling herself free and handing back his phone with a smug grin.

Louis has a truckload of painful memories and a custody arrangement where a family could’ve been. The last thing he’s looking for is a new relationship.

Harry has accepted that he’s not made for relationships and isn’t interested in getting burnt again.

So it’s been just about 6 months since Haylor ended. I think that’s enough time to let those wounds heal and find some appreciation in all the hilarious shit it brought us. I’ve never laughed as hard in any other fandom.

And for that, we thank Harry and Louis, especially.

How could I have possibly known then that he would break records doing exactly what he was put in this world to do, that he would grow up being the kind of man the world needs right now. My gorgeous girl, who has loved and protected him always, even when he was the annoying little brother to his quiet, studious big sister. I could not be prouder of you both, as humans, as siblings and as my babies. Knowing you are always there for me, but more importantly for each other … well that is my biggest achievement… and this is MY award 🥇 ❤️
