Police: 

They have been filmed beating protesters that have already been subdued/cuffed, as well as using their weapons incorrectly (firing rubber bullets at close range) and driving into crowds. 

People are dying.This is wrong. 

THEY don’t tell you that they break into MTR (subway) stations just to wreck every single thing in sight because the company didn’t comply with the protestors’ request to release a CCTV video. Every single station.

They throw gasoline bombs at police.

They break shops and banks that had anything remotely to do with China.

They wrecked restaurants and shops that were in one corporation because the owner’s daughter expressed her political opinion (that is against the protestors).

They dig up bricks from the ground to throw at the police and the general public that have opposing political opinion.

They broke off metal fences from the street to be used as barricades or weapons.

They broke traffic lights, and busses (run by private companies, not that government) at junctions to block the roads to stop people from getting places they want to go. Doesn’t matter whether you are a member of the general public wanting to go shopping, or you are a medic on an ambulance trying to rush to a hospital to save some innocent person having a heart attack. You are NOT going anywhere you want to or need to.

And this has been going on for almost half a year.

I honestly think it is more than ok to have different political opinions. We can all agree to disagree on how best to rule HK. But this. THIS. is not the way I want HK to be.

Burning tolls for collecting tariffs for using tunnels is NOT going to help you achieve anything. Digging up bricks is not going to help you achieve universal suffrage. Breaking things at a train station is not going to get you anywhere.

Unemployment rate is already up. People are losing income and losing jobs. Tourists are avoiding HK. No one is going to able to “save HK” by first wrecking it.

Please. Don’t just look at one side of the argument. I am not saying the government is right, but I definitely know violence is not the solution to violence.

Stop destroying my home in the name of democracy. Acts like setting people with different opinions on fire, smashing random shops and writing insults on the walls — random destructive acts totally not relevant to fighting for democracy — do NOT become right because you slap the “oh it’s for democracy” label on it. Just saying.

This is not pro-democracy. This is destroying what could have been a democratic society.
