Happy cassian week day 1. I was working on a card set and managed to get his card done first

I still think about that whole paragraph in SF where Cassian describes how Nesta and Feyre look as if they own and command the night with their clothes in Nightcourt black, but Elain, no matter how much she claimed to be a part of that court, it sucked the life from her. Black drained her of color, the girl who craves sunlight, who is constantly turning towards the sun and chasing away shadows.

Who would have thought the mother gave her a mate filled with sunshine, filled with warmth. Elain has been in the shadow of others for so long, but with Lucien she has the perfect chance to step into her light.

The placing of this lighting is purposeful. Lucien, who has a light within him, has been cast in darkness through all the things he's been through and carried. His own light behind him, but still reaching out to Elain.

Washing linen in the river as I scale fish and roast them over an open fire

I heard you giggle and I think you kissed

I imagined it was me that you almost kissed

I swept you off your feet and you greeted me with a smile

Your long flowy dress swirled around your feet

Just like it had in my fever dream

But I sit here alone and the romance turns to solitude

In another life we'd travel far across the lands

Foraging and feasting upon nature's bountiful blessings

I'd hunt for you and you'd gaze upon my muscled chest as I caught you fish to scale for stews

And then we'd eat under the stars and embrace while sharing stories of adventure

In another life I'd wake up next to you

I'd see your sleepy face and your nightgown slipping just off your shoulder

I'd brush hair out of your face and mouth just as you would when we were together

I'd read and let you sleep and not move so you wouldn't wake up

When I'd have the chance I'd make you some tea and breakfast and when you'd wake up you'd eat it by our garden

In another life I would propose to you at dawn

We'd be in a meadow full of flowers

You'd be bathed in the early sun's beauty

Your brown eyes would turn golden in the morning light

Then I'd lift you up and kiss you and make you my wife

In another life you'd at least give me a chance to talk to you

You'd at least hear me out

We could talk about it

We could work it out

In another life you'd choose me and I'd choose you not because of fate but despite it

You'd get to know me and not fight it

Until then I have my dreams of holding you close and watching streams ,catching fish in foreign lands ,and maybe even holding hands

Oh you thought we were done with the Twilight AU? Well when @ratabrasileira came up with two irresistible poses, it really was impossible for @separatist-apologist and I to decide. So why not do them both?

@ratabrasileira thank you so much for making not just one, but TWO amazing art pieces when truly all we threw at you were vibes. You completely understood the assignment and went above and beyond and we couldn't appreciate you more!!!

I saw a video on IG (link) of a wife talking to her husband after he read Azriel's bonus chapter. He said that he had been shipping E/riel, but changed to Gwynriel after reading it. It reminded me of my husband's reaction when we were listening to ACOSF Graphic Audio together.

He guesses EVERYTHING. He's just like me, trying to guess where the plot is going as soon as possible.

I didn't tell him anything about the Elain/Lucien/Azriel/Gwyn dynamics yet and I refused to talk about it until we finished all the reading because I didn't want to bias his perspective.

And we get to this scene:

We're in the car, and he turns to look at me like:

And I'm keeping my eyes on the road like:

He just goes "They're gonna be a thing, aren't they?"

So, I do what I usually do when he guesses something way too early. I start gaslighting the shit out of him.

It's enough to get him to say "Alright, maybe I'm looking into it too much."

But for the rest of the book, every time a scene with Gwyn and Azriel comes up, I've gotta do the same thing. There's no talking him out of it by Chapter 60, especially with the "you're the new ribbon" line. He straight up says "We're going to have to agree to disagree on this because I think you're wrong." and I had to pretend to be upset 🤣

After we finished Silver Flames, he reads the bonus chapter. He comes into my room after that and he's like "You're fucking with me. You HAVE to be." And I say I'm not, going on to list every argument I know against both Gwynriel and Elucien. Pulling on my years of drama club experience to really sell it.

And this man, bless his heart I wish I recorded it, goes off on a rant about how it's going to be an Elucien and Gwynriel endgame, while I pretend to be unconvinced and even argue back. It was full on this vibe:

This conversation went on for an HOUR.

And when he was done, I give him the ol':

“What can I get you, Elain?” ☀️

Continuing with the theme of shadow prompts, it's day 5: Animorphs which SHOULD HAVE WON but I'm not bitter. In my never ending journey to bullycollaborate with my best fandom friends, @shallyne took on truly the hardest art challenge of the week- Elucien animorphs. Can you BELIVE every artist I asked besides Shallyne said no?

And she truly nailed the concept with Lucien morphing into a fox, and Elain a bunny- this was not an easy concept at all, and @shallyne, I hope you know just how much I love and adore you. You are truly one of the best people in this fandom, and I'm so grateful we got to know one another and I can count you among one of my friends.

Also thanks to @the-lonelybarricade who enthusiastically agreed to this shadow prompt week and has been a good sport about it the entire time- you have the best sense of humor of anyone I know, and I hope you're having as much fun as I am
