“Yeah .. It is also subjectively the most boring one. I have to go to Bulgaria with my parents and listen to my dad whine on about Gilliad’s career. I don’t even speak bulgarian, so my grandparents will surely disapprove in faulty english. I wish I was allowed to stay at school.” 

Needless to say the Slytherin boy was not looking forward to christmas.

He sounded so defeated, and it made her all the more cheerful.  The world was rose tinted in her eyes, and she could always find a silver lining.

Albus winced as he leant forwards, his body still screaming from the Skelegrow. Both the joints in his knees had shattered on impact with the ground, the cushioning charm failing him yet again. No doubt he’d be a laughing stock again. His mother had been perfect at a hex back in her day, he hadn’t inherited any of her talents. Definitely not any of her flying skill, given how easily he ahd slipped off of his broom.

Even with everything in pain, it was his pride that was wounded the most. It would probably take his self-esteem the longest to recover, that and his heart. He had bee one game away from the house cup finals, and the scouts from the major teams coming to see them play. Albus wasn’t going to be on the field, he didn’t need to wait for someone to try and break it to him gently.  

In the hours of lying awake waiting to be able to get out of bed, that was the only thing he could think about. And as much as he should’ve taken his aunts appearance in the hospital wing as a welcome break, it only felt worse.
