I respect Monster Hunter a lot for being able to successfully insert The Dragon (majestic awe-inspiring fantasy creature more akin to a natural phenomenon or even a local god than to a living being) in a world filled with dragons (big animals with their place in the natural ecology)
It's like if you got to that scene in Dungeon Meshi showing off all the types of dragons and after the cool worldbuilding depicting how they act as real, tangible animals they stopped to say "oh and Ancalagon the Black from Tolkien's legendarium is also here"
Fatalis (I assume the monster that is being mentioned here) is really cool because it is just that classic mythological black dragon. Its in game lore is primarily just fairytales and folklore and thats it. All of its ecology differs compared to everything else with it being primarly supernatural. Hell we have fatalis sword in pokke village which is constantly regrowing for an unknown reason, old fatalis's appearance will cause the sun to eclipse, etc.
