James Lake Sr. Expresses Outrage Over Royal Wedding

While we all eagerly count down the days until Princess Claire marries her Prince Charming, the news outlets have been going crazy, trying to pin down who will be in the bridal party (they’ve been remarkably quiet about it) and what guests will be invited. 

One such guest that we know isn’t invited is James Lake Senior, the future Duke of Asbury’s father, who has been quite vocal in the fact that he hasn’t received his invitation. Not much is known about Lake Sr.’s relationship with his son, but what is known is that the princess’s future mother-in-law remarried when Jim was in elementary school (with the King and Queen in attendance none the less!) and Jim has reportedly not kept contact with his father until recently. 

A palace aide confirmed that James Lake Sr. was not given an invite after the lovebirds spoke with close friends and their respective families. “The decision to exclude Mr. Lake from their wedding festivities is entirely mutual. Their Majesties and Mrs. Strickler completely support them in this decision for their wedding, as does the rest of the family.”
