Lucy Alexander

“Lucy!” 

The door to Violet’s room had been ajar and she heard her sister’s familiar footsteps as she passed by it. 

“Come sit down for a minute,” She said as Lucy came and stood in her doorway. “Where were you off to today? I missed you this afternoon. I went shopping and could have used the company.” She gestured to the new necklace that hung about her neck.”Do you like it?” she asked. 

Violet was in a particularly good mood because William Stark had called and asked her to go out with him tonight. There was a new gallery opening up in the city and he thought she might like to go. (Violet conveintantly chose to ignore the fact that it was not unlikely that he would cancel, conveniently forget, or simply decide to cut the evening short).

Lucy also felt a touch this way towards her brother, true, but moreso towards Violet.  Violet, after all, was the only one of them who didn’t see their parents as they actually were, the only one who so craved their attention and affection...and therefore, Violet was the most vulnerable to them of the last generation of Alexanders.

Coming inside, Lucy leaned in the doorframe, her brows arched expectantly, refusing to sit for the very simple fact that her sister had told her to, though she suspected this was one of her more foolish rebellions because she felt in her bones that this was likely to become a long and involved ‘chat,’ despite Lucy’s wishes to simply sneak out of the house, undisturbed...or perhaps because of them.

“What?  Can’t a girl hunt in peace?” she lied, casually, with a shrug.  She had not, in fact, been lunching -- she’d been spending time with some of her friends, but given that they were not vampires, she didn’t particularly want to explore whatever Violet’s impressions of them might be.

Despite herself, Lucy found herself abandoning the doorway to come inside and further inspect the necklace.  If Lucy were being honest, she had always admired her sister’s style: there was an effortless grace and elegance to the other girl that Lucy had always, always wished to emulate...but had never quite got down.  Nonetheless, she was not about to admit that.  So, looking at the necklace Lucy now wished was her own, she simply shrugged.  “It’s nice,” she said, tone dismissive.  “Though you might have done a little better with emeralds...give your eyes some color.”

ok!! so!!! i feel like this whole family is steeped in crazyyyyy drama and there aint a well adjusted soul in this entire bloodline <3 or, at least, lucy aint it!!!!!!  i think she tries to play normal, yknow? she’s a bit feral and sort of runs amock but she’s also out there like ‘well yknow im just doing what any girl would do’ *meanwhile there’s literally blood on her lips but shhh* and kinda sees herself as at once this popular icon and this...transcendant figure bc ofc she’ll still be exactly this way when everyone else is turned to dust so she’s like ‘why yes im (extra)ordinary’ in the weirdest way?????? idk how to explain it?????? but also she’s extra alsjdfkljd anyway!!! im sorry about baby girl!!!!!!

and i do think lucy handles a lot of this by being rebellious, too!! so then if violet is interfering that’s yet another layer on top of the above and lucy will noT react well!!!!!!! plus, of course, she’s got her own NO ONE CONTROLS ME issues there too so its just alkdsjfklsjdf lots going on there lajsdflkjsldf

(meanwhile, i do think lucy is probs a bit disappointing in that way bc idk that she’s killed anyone yet -- i do say yet bc i don’t think you can realistically live as a vamp, esp early on, and not eventually kill ~someone ~somehow but i do think she’s terrified of that inevitability but at the same time is honestly probs trying to hide from her family that she hasn’t killed anyone yet ngl and it’s a meSS asjdflkjsf)

i feel like she was absolutely E U P H O R I C when violet started paying attention to her and hanging out w her!!!! honestly probs the best time in her life ngl!!!!!!!  i think she felt like god himself had descended from the clouds and sat down next to her and said, ‘wanna be bffs?’ hahaha dalskjfkdsjf omg violet and lucy developing a real and true sisterly bond despite aLL the odds!!!!!!! <3333333333 MY EMOTIONS!!!!!!!!

lajdfkl;jdsafj ngl violet became lucy’s hero all over again when she was fighting w their mom!!!! and i feel like they probs tag teamed it sometimes too smh i mean i do think lucy loved her mom on some level but she also hated her on lots of levels and alsdjfkjdsf well its a complicated relationship alsdkjflkdsf omgggggg them rebelling together and running out on the town and doing whatever it is they wants was probs a highlight for lucy any time it happened!!!!! lucy sees rebellion for rebellion’s sake as a virtue just on its own little less having a good time, having her own way, sticking it to their mom, and bonding w her sister which are all amongst her fav things!!!!!!! literally delightful!!!! lasjflkjsdf

anyway!!!!! that def makes sense!!!!! speaking of which...i mean obv her dad hasn’t taken an ad out in the paper reading ‘i am vampire’ or anything like that, but how far does he really go trying to hide it to those who are in the know/know what signs to look for etc?

i do think lucy’s probs been taught about hunters being a thing etc but tbh i doubt its occurred to her that she knows any unless she knows that someone’s one for a fact for some reason.  i do think she feels v safe in that way (def not re: her dad...he did literally straight up murder her mom so...) and i do think she def has this vision of hunters as these nightmarish creatures a la the bogeyman since she was probs raised w stories of them as the baddies etc so she def isn’t pegging anyone she knows as a fairytale villain type yknow and alkjsdflkdksjf so if she ever finds that out itll def blow her away in a lot of ways lajsdlkfjadsf

she probs likes him too but probs mostly just thinks of him as that hot prankster geek she sees around from time to time since she sees him in the library and at the wilsons’ house (news flash, luce: he also sees YOU at the library) anyway!! she’s kinda a jerk so idk that she really thinks about him the instant he’s out of eyeline slkdfjajklsdf but that might be better for him lbr!!  that being said, i do think she’d enjoy his company and will probs enjoy getting to know him better if he does in fact try to investigate get to know her family better ++ i can see them joking around or whatever when they do run into e/o but i do feel like they’re probs just glorified strangers atp given that her family is vampiric and he’s literally a hunter hahaha

I’m sure these two would know each other what w/ all of the Alexander/Wilson relationships going on!! I feel like Mia would like Lucy, for the most part, but any arguments between her and Emma, Mia would always be siding w/ Emma #sorrynotsorry.

but anyway!!!!!! as i sort of alluded, i do think lucy would like mia in general!!!! esp if mia is pr game/up for whatever, yknow, bc lucy doesn’t like being alone and loves adventures and distractions!!!!!! plus, mia is soooo diff from her own family situation i feel like hahahah that being said tho lucy’s mood can shift on a dime and so she can go from being YOU ARE THE BEST PERSON IN THE WORLD to YOU ARE SO ANNOYING GET OUT in no time at all so!!! that’s fun!!!

also, im 100000000% positive that chris gave all his sisters these rings/brac/necklaces (whatever they’d most prefer) that contain tons of vervaine and really stressed that it’d be a big sibling issue if they remove them!!! so mia’s one of the few ppl lucy can’t ~compel which makes her both fascinating and frustrating to be around and alksjdfkljsdfj have i mentioned yet that lucy is a huge mess???? laksjfkljsdfjk (i know you’re stunned ;lalksjdfasdf ;D)

Nate definitely feels that the whole vampire/werewolf feud thing is dumb and he doesn’t really get it and definitely thinks that people like the Alexander dad are the problem who just think they are better than everyone else when in reality he’s a complete asshole?!?? Anyway, Nate is also pretty reckless sometimes and I feel like he’s probably said some things to their dad’s face that their dad diD not appreciate and tbh it’s a wonder he’s still alive lmao

Anyway, Nate also kinda has feelings for Lucy and he knows she’s not interested, but I think he’s definitely tried to ask her out before and is now always kind of half joking/teasing about it but doesn’t think anything is really going to ever come of it atp

so anyway!!! that was all a really long explanation of lucy’s rebellious motives hahaha plus, if nate’s saying stuff like ‘ppl like your dad are the problem!’ lucy’s like PREACH lakjsdflkjsdjlf and probs ‘pls go on say more bad things abt my dad!!!! im LIVING’ aldsjflksjdf esp if he said it to her dad’s face in front of her!!!! like for a hot second she was probs like DID THAT JUST HAPPEN and then she was right in there w him, got him out of there, and then was like ‘GUESS WHO JUST OFFICIALLY BECAME MY HERO (but also pro tip you probs shouldn’t say stuff like that to my dad im not exaggerating when i say he might straight up murder you)’

also he is so right!!!! to be worried about her!!!! she tries to play it off like everything’s fine etc but she’s is noT in a great place rn!!!! and ill talk about that a lil more in the context of how he feels and kill two birds w one stone (dmitrei, are you proud of me)

so!!! how obv do you think he is/was about being into her?  bc i can def see her either fully realizing how he feels or not, but obv it would change up how their relationship goes

if she knows he’s into her, that’s def a big boost for her ego and she loves ego boosts!!!!!! so its possible she would’ve been cool w a brief fling in the past but, if so, its probs long over bc i feel like she’s in a mindset where like she doesn’t do relationships and she wants that clear and esp if he has feelings for her she def doesn’t wanna hurt him so she wanted to make that super clear and make v clear delineations, etc.  that being said, tho, if there wasn’t any kind of fling before the whole turning/mom murder thing, then there probs won’t be now bc she’s going through smth™ and doesn’t want anyone trying to connect w her tie her down, yknow?  rn, she’s just looking to finally feel numb free and that includes sexually/romantically and tbh i do think that’s all gotten worse/more reckless etc since getting turned and then promptly losing her mom to her dad yknow?  i think she’s trying to play it off cool but in reality she’s really spiraling ngl and feeling scared and lost and hurt and guilty and angry and abandoned and betrayed and out of control and everything else but she’s trying to pretend she’s noT and its a huge mess and i do think she’s sliding into self-destructive tendencies ngl but alkdsjfjksdf anyway that’s another story hahaha

if she doesn’t know his feelings are genuine and thinks he’s just been joking around this whole time, tho, she probs teases him about it and continues the joke and #facepalm and just considers it their ~thing and doesn’t really think any more of it than that and just sees him as a friend and cue a thousand skull emojis

all that being said!!! i do think she genuinely considers him one of her friends and, depending how long they’ve been friends, probs extends some of the family mantel over him, like he gets defended like a sibling and gets to talk shit AND worry about her siblings and all that kinda stuff which might not seem like a huge deal but it is to her bc i feel like their upbringing was kinda isolationist in that its us vs them -- we great vampires vs those puny non vamps sorta thing -- and as much as she despises and chafes at all of that, it was so hammered into her that they’re ~different and have to keep their secrets and all that, that she finds it difficult to really connect outside her fam and yeahhhhh its a meSS alksjdfkljsdfj

okay, so violet has daddy!!!issues!!!

she basically just wants to be her dad’s #1 and honestly just tries to be the perfect daughter (and vampire!) and is constantly trying to prove herself. as the oldest, she feels it is her birthright and I feel like her dad probably even tried to play her and nick against each other and sort of set her up like she was going to be and then was like “haha oh how cute u thought u were my fav obvi it’s my first born son!”

and yeah, so her relationship with nick is super complicated b/c while he is family, he’s in her way (even if it’s not his fault, she blames him for everything) and it’s just a mess laskjflsajfj

I do think she is probably closer with lucy (overall) but I do think she also gets jealous whenever it seems like her siblings get more attention than she does and then she would pick a fight for literally no reason

She can also be kind of controlling, just, in general, and I feel like she wants things to go a certain way and when people don’t follow through with it, she gets upset, and I feel like that would definitely be a point of contention, b/c Lucy seems to be stubborn and probably wouldn’t just blindly listen/do  everything violent wants her to!!

honestly i defffff think lucy exhibits that precise same behavior of picking a fight w any sibling that’s getting more attention or even ~giving more attention to someone else alsdkjfajlkdsf their first forrays into the dating world must’ve been fun for everyonE laskdjfksjdf

so i def think she ~did have a big sis idolization period!! i mean, violet is six years older and that much cooler, more sophisticated, educated, etc, and, while eventually that sort of eased off as they got closer in age, essentially, i def think she felt that way in the beginning, esp bc of her abundance of mommy issues, so violet probs stood in, in some ways, in her mind yknow as a female caretaker figure if you know -- like, the lady you go to when you need smth™ and she probs in some ways ended up (unconsciously) modeling herself after violet which, ironically, is probs also the source of a lot of tension between them smdh so!!! it’s complicated!!!!!
