✧ Opening Notes

May was again an exhausting month. I had some really good flights and the pleasure to meet my first nephew but also a lot of work. Honestly I felt like I did not really have much time to enjoy my hobbies and much media so this one will be a short one.

Final Fantasy 8

I have tried this game a lot of times but it is the first time I stay

Squall is a very interesting protagonist, I am slowly growing to love him

Rinoa would 100% make me fall in love with her in a second irl

Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles

I love this one so much, the job system is amazing and tactic RPGs are so fun to play

The story and setting of this game is soooo good, I love Ramza as a protagonist so much

I was only able to finish one book but it was a good one. I read way less manga than I usually do too.

Bunny Girl Evolution Book 1

This has been a very fun LitRPG, very system-light and easy to follow through. The protagonist is relatable and her skill progression is fun to follow.

Solo Leveling

I finally caught up with the main story ending and started the side stories. I am not loving the side stories as much but I did enjoy how the series ended. This is like one punch man where you know he will always win, but it is still fun to read.

Final Fantasy Type-0

I just started this manga and am enjoying it but it is sometimes hard to distinguish and learn to love the characters since their design is so similar. Still it has been a good read and I am intrigued with the story. This is one of the couple FF games I haven’t played so going blind into the story.

The Ice Guy and the Cool Girl

I am a sucker for love stories and this is one of my favorite couple of all time. I can’t wait for the next one on July.

Honestly I fee like I am being a bit too geeky lately

Mai is outside 

I have no idea why I am so into breakcore this month, I feel like it relaxes me and let’s me focus well. I used to listen to it more at the gym but right now it feels like the perfect driving company to keep me up and chill

✧🌟 Favorites of the Month

Favorite character: Selphie (FFVII)

She is such a goofball and I am honestly happy anytime she shows up

Favorite song: HOWLING (XG)

The awoooooo howl makes me smile a lot, it works perfectly even though in my mind it is something that maybe should be a little too cheesy

Favorite flight: May 17s Long Flight

So, as some of you might know I am an airline pilot. Once again I had two very long flights. This ones were very quiet but I was able to really enjoy my time and relax a little.

✧💭 Closing Thoughts

I am enjoying writing so much, working on my challenge runs and pushing forward slowly trying to find better ways to make my content mine

This month was not kind to me as I hoped but it wasn’t a bad one even if it was a little too hectic for my taste

I really hoped June was a bit slower for me but my flight schedules are already a bit crazy and it´s high season so it´s expected 

I just hope I have just enough time to consume more media and go back to the gym

✧ Overview / Rules

I tried to build a full team of shiny Pokémon, all in blue. It sounded like a fun and relaxing challenge. I never imagined how painful it could be

I hadn’t done any shiny hunts in almost a year, so naturally I gave myself 4 hours to complete this challenge

I played on the Switch 2, using Pokémon Scarlet. The main method was outbreaks and shiny sandwiches. All Pokémon had to be caught in Great Balls and my timer would stop only once I had fully evolved them

My targets were Kingambit, Lycanroc, Orthworm, Weezing, Venomoth and Coalossal. Yes Weezing is a greenish blue, but it counts

✧ Flow — 2/5

Turns out I don’t really remember how to shiny hunt anymore. For the first target, I forgot to defeat the 60 outbreak Pokémon before starting the respawn progress. I remembered all the mechanics for the next target, but still struggled with the rest of them. The hunts were long, but I still had fun with them

✧ Difficulty — 3/5

Mechanically, the challenge isn’t hard at all. Sandwich hunting is one of the easiest ways to find shinies in any Pokémon game

Maybe I could have picked easier Pokémon to hunt, Venonat for example was not a great choice

Somehow playing on the Switch 2 made it harder. Pokémon spawn really far away and it is hard to know if you defeated actual outbreak Pokémon or just random ones

Also my TV looks really blue for some reason

✧ Creativity — 3/5

The restriction of only blue shinies made me hunt some Pokémon I would normally not look for. I fell in love with Venonat and it became one of my favorites thanks to this challenge

I also tried making every sandwich as horrible as possible and that was way more fun than I expected

✧ Pain Factor — 5/5

Venonat

This has been the most exhausting hunt I have ever done. The shiny is almost identical, so I had to run up and check each one individually. This was super rough on both my eyes and my patience

I used 3 sandwiches and a binding vow in order for it to spawn

Did I mention my tv is really blue?

✧ Enjoyment — 3/5

Despite everything, I had a lot of fun with this challenge. It felt amazing coming back to shiny hunting. I feel like this was a great way to practice in general. Also nothing beats the dopamine rush of finding a shiny after a long hunt

Time on the challenge: 4 hours and 44 minutes

Should you try this? Yes but maybe pick a different color

Would I come back to it? Probably - with better planning

My Favorite Moment: I streamed the challenge and recorded it for a YT video. I was really struggling during the Venonat hunt, no matter what I did the shiny wouldn't spawn. So I made a deal with chat that if the shiny spawned before the next sandwich ran out and the video reached 200 likes, I would get a shiny Venonat tattoo

It spawned less than 30 seconds later because of course it did
