red maple, the firstborn son. i feel like i remember my original art having a smoother shape on the leaf markings but the spikier shape looks more accurate to the actual leaf so i'm not mad about the change

snowdrift was the most drastically changed from the original art, i remember giving it a :< shaped mouth and the ears weren't as floppy, nor were the eyes as big. i don't hate the changes though, it's still cute, but it's definitely Different from my original vision for it

snow crocus was very cute i think. i originally gave it little piles of snow with flowers on the ground around its feet but that was a detail lost in the redraw. also i remember halfway through coloring it i was like "oh shit, a white goat with floppy ears in purple, are people going to compare this to toriel undertale" but idr anyone ever doing so

sweet demon. my beloved. my baby. the most self indulgent of my AD designs. i remember the way i drew the hair was specifically based off of the way another designer i really liked at the time drew the hair on their ADs. if i were to redraw it today i'd Probably change it but i think it's fun to look at specific elements and be able to remember exactly where i got that from

acorn scout is probably the one i'm the most satisfied with. i feel like every element here ended up working out perfectly. my biggest sources of inspiration for it were cartoons i really liked growing up, specifically camp lazlo, the mighty b, and phineas and ferb. also between this and snow crocus it's evident i had a Thing for putting goats in little capes. i didn't like giving them full on human outfits, it felt more natural for them to be wearing something simple like this

candy bones, and also snowdrift from earlier, were both "i'm just gonna make something that looks cool" goats without anything super deep to them, though looking at this guy again i do have Vague memories of seeing these little chalky candy bones in an oriental trading catalogue and that's probably where i got some inspiration. sometimes you don't need a super high concept to make a fun design i think

mutantling was the last of my little guys to become real. mutant neopets have always been some of my favorites and so i wanted to make something that was a nod to them, kinda gross and weird but still cute in its own way. stitch was also an inspo for this one but not as prominently as the other source. also i think my color choices here are some of my favorites, i think the pink and blue accents are nice

rotten candy was the only time i designed something that became a baddy and also shopkeeper but i'm fairly certain he started life as a battle pet design. i'm pretty sure i took some inspo from the cotton candy glob from scooby doo for this guy but i can't say for sure if it was intentional or just a subconscious thing

goopy bp! the thing i recreated IRL! i think i originally just called this thing "sweet demon slime" or something similar but "goopy" is a way better name tbh. that sure is a goopy

the seagull plush's round legless body was specifically inspired by those audubon talking bird plush toys. i remember one of my grandmas would get me one every year for christmas so i wanted to give a little nod to that with this item. i don't think they ever made a seagull one though

the yeti base and face, which were The first items of mine to ever become official. are they a bit difficult to use for customization? yeah but who cares

some battle pets of mine inspired by existing ADs and in one case a baddy. i always really liked the idea of ADs having their own little matching friend to put in their treasure. in order they're inspired by the swamp witch, eye candy, herbalist, sea punk, princess kaguya ADs and frost guardian baddy. i remember making a sea urchin to match the pufferfish that was based off of the sea punk RAD but that one never became official unfortunately

caterprince is another BP of mine but this time not connected to anything. i wanted to do a monarch butterfly caterpillar specifically bc i thought the idea would be very cute

the gloom perfume was made with the very specific purpose of putting it in one of my goats' treasures. she had the gloom AD and her character was that she was a perfumer so i was like "lol what if i did something to match that" and well. here it is
