Okay I'm curious about this, this is related to a reddit comment I made, but is there anything in the Japanese version of the game indicating Twinbellows is Medusa's? Someone on reddit mentioned Medusa possibly saying something about Twinbellows being hers somewhere in the Japanese version of the game towards the end of the first chapter or somewhere in one of the other chapters she appears in, so I'm just curious if she actually does or if there's something else somewhere else indicating that.

Well... I checked both chapters 1 and 9 and didn't find anything to indicate that Medusa is Twinbellows's owner per se.
Here Palutena conveys roughly the same sentiment as she does in English. Literally it translates to "the Underworld's magic beast."

Ooh, it's been a while since I've done this kind of thing. I'll do my best!
Pit: Come at me, Twinbellows! I'll make you bark once more! I'll tame ya and teach you "shake" and stuff! And after we walk, I'll give you a bath and feed you lots of food! I'll give you a special cameo in Nintendogs!
Palutena: Uhh, that won't happen.
And then the next line is just "finish!" As in, like... he finished Twinbellows off... you get it.

Yeah so... no mention of Medusa nor the Underworld.
I also checked Twinbellows's idol description. Here's my translation of what's written in Japanese:
"The Underworld's two-headed watchdog. Under Dark Lord Gaol's command, it was deployed to attack an Overworld town. This time, it was infused with magical power and grew to be much larger, fiercer, and swifter than its previous incarnation. However, being incomparable to Pit's newfound weapons and skill, it was promptly purged."
To get any new folks up to speed, the Japanese version of the game is very allergic to words like "weapons" or "kill," so "sacred treasure" and "purge" or "defeat" are used in their stead. I would have to assume it's as a result of needing to be appropriate for a younger audience but Japanese media meant for kids can still be very weird so who am I to say... In any case, the Japanese's "sacred treasure" is the equivalent to the English's "weapon" so I went with that for simplicity's sake. The last sentence was also very weird, literally it's something like "however, being incomparable to Pit's development, having returned armed with a sacred treasure, it was promptly purged" but that's a real mouthful and sounds real awkward.
Oh uh, I guess Twinbellows is considered one of Gaol's minions? Well that's new. Let's compare to the English version:
"A two headed dog (hence the name) that guards the Underworld. Medusa unleashes Twinbellows during an assault on a human city, using magic to supersize the bicephalous puppy. But, for Pit, the louder they bark, the harder they fall."
Well... if you want anything to indicate that Twinbellows is owned by Medusa, maybe this is it?
There's one more place I could look... at that's the CoroCoro magazine one-shot manga. It was an adaptation of chapter 1 from the game. There used to be an archive of a fan-translated version, but it seems to be lost to time. I can only manage to find the first couple pages. I've only ever read it once so I can't really remember if it said anything about Medusa owning Twinbellows. Anyway, if somebody is able to find an old link to it, I'd love to look into it.
Sorry I didn't end up finding anything interesting. But if there's anything else you'd like to know about the Japanese version of the game compared to the English one, let me know! I live in Japan now and am immersed and all that jazz, so I'd like to think my language proficiency has improved at least a little bit...
