"Oh, I am one yet many!"

We all know that tomorrow the last episode of Hibike! Euphonium will air and I understand that the community is sad, of course; it is true for me, too, since Hibike is probably my favourite anime (tied with Hyouka). Now, getting to the main topic of this post, I’m reading lot of comments about how Kyoani betrayed the community by not making KumiRei canon....really? Have you ever really thought about this ship being canon? Don’t get me wrong, I love the chemistry between them, but I’ve never thought their interactions as the prelude of a possible relationship. Of course they are closer than normal friends, but that’s all there is to it. Reina loves Taki-sensei and I think that Kumiko has been interested in Shuuichi since the first season; maybe she is not in love with him, maybe she just feels attracted to him in some way we don’t know, maybe she just likes the idea of being with him.
