Ageism is gross and there should be no problem with a group including kids, teens, young adults, and older adults all together, but at least I can see a certain value in dedicated "kids only" spaces (not for "safety" -- stranger danger isn't real, no one is getting kidnapped by someone they met in a fandom group -- but for reasons like having their own space where they won't get talked over by adults, etc.).

But. The age of majority is not 25.

"Kids and young adults only" is just so many orders of magnitude worse than either "kids only" or "adults only."

Like. The notion that socializing with adults is inherently bad for kids is a bad ideology, but the notion that socializing with young adults is fine but socializing with older adults is dangerous is somehow so much worse.

As somebody whose name contains an Umlaut, it always makes me mad when Americans people who don’t use a German keyboard layout just leave out the dots. That is not my name. :(

correct: ä = ae ö = oe ü = ue (and ß = ss)

INCORRECT: ä = a ö = o ü = u

Leaving out the dots can actually change the meaning of words. Examples:

schwül: muggy, sticky schwul: gay [homosexual] ächten: to outlaw achten: to regard/respect sb./sth. schön: beautiful schon: already, yet

Respect the Umlaute :(

for context reasons, this is how a gif I used in a recent gifset looks like without any adjustments/coloring whatsoever:

I truly don’t think people realize how dingy and dark most movies and tv shows actually are so they can’t appreciate the work and skill it takes to make gifs look the way your brain “remembers” it looking.

Another before and after example:

This gif needed 6 different adjustment layers, not including the sharpening process, which is its own separate challenge. The blue window was also changed to green to keep the palette more consistent and to reduce the range of colors needed, because a wider range of colors generally results in worse gif quality since gifs only support a max of 256 (compared to the millions your monitor can display).
