they become a little more comfortable with it as time goes on and they get more comfortable stepping out of their assigned personas more, but they still maintain a healthy distance for a while (mostly because of rumi’s unhealthy distance from the other two)

once the three of them are all together, however, that distance immediately disappears. rumi climbs into mira’s lap regularly (or, if mira thinks she’s too far away, she pulls her onto her lap), mira plays with rumi’s hair on camera, they’re caught nuzzling noses on multiple occasions and are nonchalant about being caught. theyre giggling and blushing and being sweet on one another like its nothing.

(its both everything and nothing to them. everything, because they love each other so much and the distance being closed off is so so nice. nothing, because it feels so easy to sink into this, to be so loving with one another.)

people freak out because “what the fuck happened. why are they suddenly on top of each other. i thought only zoey was like that.”

and zoeys like “lol no. they’re just fucking shy dorks who got self conscious about being affectionate in public. we’re all like that with each other.” (because suddenly mira is climbing into zoeys lap and rumi is insisting on piggyback rides from zoey, too. they all almost lost one another, and now none of them can bear the physical distance between them anymore)
