LOCATION: A ROOFTOP TERRACE IN PARIS

DAMON. That name felt familiar in some way but why? Oh! She’d heard Sage talk about a Damon. Could that be—— No. It’d be too much of a coincidence. How many chances did she have of stumbling upon one of her sire’s friends on Earth, even less in PARIS of all places while last she’d heard that one friend of his was supposed to be stationed in the picturesque town of FELL’S CHURCH, Virgina, where he was pining over a pretty blonde? No. That couldn’t be him. Sage called him his ANGEL but he looked nothing like such. Well, to be fair, Sage had also called him a LITTLE TYRANT in the same sentence. That was all Sage. In her sire’s mind, there was such a fine line between love and hate. Jessalyn didn’t agree but there were many things they didn’t agree on. She still didn’t know what the hell Sage expected from her. He obviously didn’t want her as a lover (even though everyone around them assumed so and Sage didn’t bother to deny all the rumors), so why turn her in the first place? For fun? Ugh, so many questions and so few answers.

As always, her face was telling too much. Her hazel eyes with flecks of EMERALD had gone wide as the pieces in her mind were coming together. Even if she had pretended she didn’t know of Damon, he would’ve been able to tell she was lying. She hasn’t been a vampire for more than a few months. Hell! Three months ago she had no idea the SUPERNATURAL WORLD even existed, and now she was part of it and had a kingdom to tend to! She couldn’t pretend not to know of him. No, she couldn’t. Because if he was who she thought he was, if he truly was that PRINCE OF DARKNESS she’d heard of by the Great Sage himself, he would have seen right through her anyway. All that was left to do was smile, which she did. She SMILED in a way that let him know she’d heard of that name before and of the feats attached to it, even though some of them sent shivers down her spine. ❝ Pleasure meeting you, Damon. ❞ She paused, took a sip of her drink and then sat it down carefully on the table before her eyes met his gaze once again. ❝ I’m Jessalyn. What brings you to this corner of the world ? ❞ Paris was quite far from American territory and she was genuinely curious and SUSPICIOUS of the Salvatore.
