Three rings rest upon the digits that are holding the silver cup, one of which drumming against its surface and rocking the golden liquid inside to the point where it nearly spills across his lips. Cardan takes his time to study Sage for a hot second; a second in which the unreadable, hard face melts into a lopsided, cruel, smile ― he's drunk again. jessalyn and sage are inspired by two characters from lj smith’s tvd books. they bear the same names but their backgrounds are completely different. since there’s barely any canon info to go by when it comes to these two, i decided to build from (almost) scratch. the only thing that doesn’t change is that Sage is still very much the devil/satan/lucifer’s son and that he’s an angel turned vampire. i also have my own lore regarding the dark dimension and the vampires that lives there, which i call hellions since, in my version, they were created in hell. in the books, it is presumed by everyone else that sage turned jessalyn because they were lovers but it’s never been confirmed and they are also never seen interacting at all. my headcanon is that sage turned her to protect her from the angels as well as the demons because she is his child and there’s a prophecy about her.
